First of all, I'm using the correct phonetic spelling in the title.
But, sure enough, the OVC is coming to town!

By the way- kudos to Joe Avento for breaking this bad boy. I don't know if it was leaked or if he had an in- but I know Avento was taking a beating from Wardrobe by Jim Ignatowski- so it's good to see him scoop that @sshole with a prominent story to tie up the score.
Because Joe- you know I'm rooting for you harder than I am for the boys in the chorus (little Bugs Bunny reference there)!!!
So now let's discuss. Will ETSU join the OVC in 2011?
And should they?

My prediction is that the OVC will come here
Laugh at the facilities- which are actually worse than before
Cackle at Stanton and Mullins
Take Belmont, Lipscomb, and SIU-E instead.
And then Mullins and Stanton will both get extensions.

IF Belmont and Lipscomb leaves, then our debate on whether our conference champ should get a 15 or 16 seed is over. We will always be a 16 seed (and should be).
Id much rather be in the OVC right now, at least they are a bit more steady. Id say Pitt was right in the earlier post that Mullins would rather be in the ASUN because of tennis, baseball, etc.
My prediction: Mullins and Stanton will barely listen to the OVC, not even show them the new half built soccer and softball facilities. And the OVC will grab Belmont and Lipscomb, sealing our fate for years to come.

This wasn't a leak, are you kidding? I'd say they've been broadcasting this to the local media, or at least the one's they're still speaking to. They're excited about this, I'm sure. They hope it will put an end to all the complaining about the conference.
And my guess is, this has been discussed for quite some time between the two. I'd say it's a pretty sure bet they'll ask ETSU to join.
