Rivals says:

Daniels' Lincoln basketball team took on rival Godby Monday night, but lost the contest to fall to 15-5 on the season. Daniels, however, finished with 27 points in the game and was able to perform in front of a legendary college coach.

"Memphis coach John Calipari was here tonight, and that was a little uncomfortable because you are hoping to do really well so it kinda caught me off guard a little at first," Daniels said. "After a while I settled down but that was pretty cool to see him out there. For the most part though things are going well but the visits do tend to take a lot out of you when you try and juggle basketball and recruiting all in one.

Now here's the bad news. Michigan has offered BJ Daniels and of course that has him interested. His visit went well but Michigan is a real factor now.

that would be great...he could get a football scholarship and walk-on for basketball...sounds like he's a pretty good player.

This guy would be huge for Memphis football....If Cal could use b-ball to convince him to come then I am all for it....

It is good that Cal took the time to check him out and see if he is walk on material and will fit in with the team. I know he does what he can for all the teams on campus but you cannot ask him to take someone who is going to hurt his team. Besides after his first couple of years and having to borrow players to practice he kind of owes Tommy.

Cal knows exactly what he's doin', as he always does. He knows he's killin' 2 birds with 1 stone. Tommy needs a stud qb and Cal needs a solid backup pg without waisting a scholarship. That's why he's helpin' to recruit this kid because he's a 2-sport star. Brilliant!
