All-time greats from Memphis high schools
First off, sorry if this is a pope . . . Everyone loves an “all-time best” thread, so why not the all-time best teams from various area high schools? As an example, here are a few that popped into my head.

Melrose:
Larry Finch
Ronnie Robinson (?)
Tony Madlock
Michael Wilson

Treadwell:
Elliot Perry
Anfernee Hardaway
Chris Garner

Booker T. Washington:
Lorenzen Wright (couple years)
Antonio Burks
Andre Allen
Taurean Moy
Tim “Ray Ray” Ware

White Station:
Bill Cook
Robert O’Kelly
Dane Bradshaw
JP Prince
Joe Jackson

Hamilton:
Todd Day
Marcus Nolan (had to give him some Tiger love here)
Rodney Newsom
Shawne Williams

I know there are plenty more I’m missing here . . . let’s hear what some others have to say! Maybe add some players to these lists, or put up another school’s roster. I’m excited to hear some names and places I might not have know they attended.

Deuce played for his dad Sylvester at Fairley. I think shin splints really hurt him...(pun somewhat intended)

John Gunn, Alvin Wright and James Bradley all played on the same team in high school. Since you omitted them, I'm not telling you which one. 03-nutkick

Where did Sidney Adkins play?
A bust in college, but a terror in high school.

Where did Snap Hunter play?

Always have to be difficult.

Quote:Gunn attended Melrose High School where he played for Coach Verties Sails. His senior year at Melrose, along with Tiger teammates Alvin Wright and James Bradley, the Wildcats were undefeated and won the Tennessee State Championship with a 35-0 record. That same year, Gunn was chosen as one of the five best basketball prospects in the nation and was voted the Tennessee Player of the Year.

I think Adkins was Melrose (yes a bust) and Snap Hunter was Trezevant.
What about Johnny Neumann--Overton ( I think also that Curry Todd was from Treadwell). Also Mike Butler from Kingsbury;

Since Silk Gray is already out there, I will throw out another Bolton alum, Lang Wiseman.

What about the David Harris kid, played at Southside in the early-mid 80's. I think he got mixed up with drugs, but he was a stud. 6'10" in high school back then was something else!

RE: All-time greats from Memphis high schools
Can't remember where David Harris went to High school, but do recall a high school game at Westside where he played against Bolton (Sylvester Gray) that was a classic high school game.
Also don't forget Batman (Baskerville Holmes) from Westside--Vincent Askew from Frayser; Dwight Boyd from Hickory Hood (can't remember the name of the high school)
