Why should Meyer even think about leaving Utah for Florida right now? His Utes are in the BCS top 6 right now and looking mighty good. Meanwhile, the Gators are out of the top 25 and coming off a loss to a terrible Mississippi State team. The heck with UF . . . stay with Utah, Urban!

I'll play devil's advocate:
Why would he consider the UF job?
-He makes about $500k a year at Utah, a figure Florida could afford to double, triple, or even quadruple.
-Florida is in one of, if not THE best conference in the country.
-The talent that Spurrier and Zook have stockpiled in Gainesville is pretty impressive.
-Florida would be a higher profile job and closer to an NFL job (if that is his desire).
All this being said, I think he sticks around SLC for a while, and the Ol' Ball Coach gets his ol' job back.

Okay, most of what you said is a darn good argument. Still hate to see an excellent ball coach like Meyer leave Utah, though.
The part of your post I don't agree with is that Florida is closer to an NFL job. UCF's previous head coach took an assistant coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals after UCF fired him. College coaches don't have to be at a high-profile school to get an NFL job.

It's too bad that coaches are motivated more by money, facilities, etc than they are about the potential of creating a long-term legacy and building something special (and sticking it to the big-time schools). But, I must admit, if I was in the same situation...C'ya Utah! :D
