New post season tournament
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/m...0320_x.htm

what do you guys think about the addition of this new tournament? I think its a little ridiculous. Im hoping it doesnt get as bad as football with its 32 bowl games and only 119 teams.

RE: New post season tournament
I don't see it being a success because of lack of interest. Even the NIT is an anachronism with waning interest. There was a "third" tournament in 1973 or 1974, designed for those schools that finished 2nd in their conferences, as prior to expansion to 32 teams by the NCAA in 1975, I believe, only one team per conference could go to the NCAA tournament. That third tournament died when the NCAA expanded. Heck, maybe it never actually got off the ground, as I couldn't find anything about it in the Internet. I say expand the NCAA to 128 teams and forget about the NIT or any other tournament.
