Kansas State cashed in big-time, winning two games in the Las Vegas Classic right before Christmas, beating Southern California 68-55 in the semifinals and New Mexico 72-56 for the championship. The Wildcats recorded their first in-season tournament championship in more than 10 years by getting 23 points from tournament most valuable player Cartier Martin and 13 from freshman Bill Walker.
