Clintons "Race Baiting" Obama??
OK.. something is rotten in Denmark... Billary ISN"T this stupid..Are they trying to get Obama to lash out?
A series of comments from Senator Hillary Clinton, her husband, and her supporters are spurring a racial backlash and adding a divisive edge to the presidential primary as the candidates head south to heavily African-American South Carolina.
The comments, which ranged from the New York Senator appearing to diminish the role of Martin Luther King Jr. in the civil rights movement – an aide later said she misspoke – to Bill Clinton dismissing Sen. Barack Obama’s image in the media as a “fairy tale” –generated outrage on black radio, black blogs, and cable television. And now they've drawn the attention of prominent African-American politicians.
“A cross-section of voters are alarmed at the tenor of some of these statements,” said a Obama spokeswoman Candice Tolliver, who said that Clinton would have to decide whether or not she owed anyone an apology.

RE: Clintons "Race Baiting" Obama??
I think if you talk in front of audiences as much as politicians do during a campaign, it would be pretty hard to not say something that could be regarded as offensive by somebody. If I was Obama I wouldn't touch Hillary's comments with a 50-foot pole. He should stay above the fray and not lower himself to politics as usual. Especially if he wants to continue to be seen as an agent of change in Washington.
I think Bill C. needs to just shut his yapper. I'm not sure I could bring myself to vote for Billary. Between the 2 of them, too devious.

Its the democratic method - lump people into groups and convince them to vote in their herd. Since there are more women than African-Americans, it's a good plan for the Clintons numerically at least.
Obama is toast.

RE: Clintons "Race Baiting" Obama??
The problem here is not that there is explicit racism in their comments -- its the condescending tone that is a punch in the stomach to African Americans. They have chosen to wage their campaign against Obama by diminishing him -- conceding his tremendous oratorical ability as a way to backhand compliment him, implying that he is of no substance. They have referred to him as a kid, his image as a fairy tale, a media concoction, naive, lazy, etc
This has a dog-whistle effect on the black community. After Iowa especially, even Black Americans who still don't think Barack can win have a lot of pride in his candidacy and what he is doing to offer hope to them and their children. Even if they support Clinton, they have a tremendous amount of pride in Obama's candidacy.
And so when the Clinton's choose to diminish and demean him, to condescend to him and patronize him -- that hits blacks like a punch in the stomach. And they will recoil at it. Because frankly its not necessary. You can disagree with him on policy without saying he was "a part-time state senator who started running for president as soon as he arrived in the senate, who not 'done the spade work' to affect people's lives"
If they keep trying to diminish him, the African-American community will push back.
Of course, that's what they want -- so that the white community will start to view Obama as a black candidate, which diminishes their ability to identify with him.
Watch what happens when Obama wins South Carolina. The media will portray it as insignificant because 50% of voters are black. Nevermind that 60% of the voters in NH were WHITE WOMEN like Hillary.

Funny how the Dems love to rail against racism and yet embrace collectivism.

Dude you and many other black people are reading way too much into those statements. The Clintons are playing politics plain and simple and Obama set him self for this when he decided to run for President.
This is definitely not the first time a candidate has attacked another candidate's ideals, voting record and work ethic in an election. The only difference is in this situation the candidate being attacked is black.
The whole idea of the Clinton statements being racist is stupid and from what I heard the complaints about the statements were not coming from Obama's political camp.
We as black people need to realize that everytime a black person is attacked, it is not because they are black. (I hope I do not lose my designation as a race pimp for typing that...)
