Like ESPN My Very Early BIG EAST Football Predictions
BIG EAST 2008

1. South Florida - Everyone is going with West Virginia but losing those starters on defense and the coaching transition will cost them. USF must replace Williams and Jenkins but the offense should be improved to overcome it. BIG EAST Record 5-2 Overall/Record 9-3

2. West Virginia - Devine, White and Slaton are back but will they be able to stop anyone. Plus whether WVU fans want to admit it or not they are going to miss Rich Rod. BIG EAST Record 4-3/Overall Record 9-3

2. Cincinnati - Demetrius Jones will more then help UC get over the departure of Ben Mauk. BIG EAST Record 4-3/Overall Record 8-4

2. Pittsburgh - Wanny and his young talent finally get their head out of their collective butts. LeSean McCoy is the BIG EAST best returning RB and the return of Derrick Kinder should help balance their offensive attack. BIG EAST Record 4-3/Overall Record 8-4

5. Louisville - Louisville starters it rebound from it fall in 2007. Hunter Cantwell will do a good job replacing Brian Brohm but he is still no Brian Brohm. BIG EAST Record 3-4/Overall Record 8-4

5. UConn - The Huskies lack of speed will be more telling this year. Also they play most of their conference games on the road and that is where they will take the hit. BIG EAST Record 3-4/Overall Record 7-5

5. Rutgers - RU is losing it heart and soul the past two years on offense in Ray Rice. Mike Teel and the WR will have to step it up to maintain in the rugged BIG EAST. BIG EAST Record 3-4/Overall Record 6-6

8. Syracuse - The last year for the worst coach in the BIG EAST. BIG EAST Record 2-5/Overall Record 4-8

BIG EAST OOC Record 33-7

BIG EAST BOWLS
BCS Bowl South Florida
Sun Bowl West Virginia
Meineke Car Care Bowl Cincinnati
Texas Bowl Louisville
Papa John's.com Bowl UConn
International Bowl Pittsburgh

Could we wait until after spring practice?

I’ll be surprises if Cincinnati has winning season.
They lose too many people.

Syracuse be a surprise team, getting to .500

I would like to see Rutgers make it to a bowl game again.

I'm more worry about USF than WVU because we don’t have them at home.

I guess it makes us feel better to group programs into tier but the separation is not very big.

Going undefeated is my wet dream but being the first New England team to play BCS game will do.

Every body know we are not second place team last year. Why should we. 03-lmfao

Maize, you've got us (UC) 4-3 in conference and 9-3 overall. Does that mean you think we're going to win at Oklahoma? Or did you mean to type 9-4 since we have 13 games.

And SO #1, I don't know what team you're talking about we don't lose that many people. The strength of our team is our JUNIOR class, not our senior class.

Thought that was next season. Will correct.

I am not sure what you mean saying Cincinnati loses a lot of people. The only player at this time we lose who is nearly impossible to replace is Nakamura. Everyone else has a backup who is at least as good.

BTW, I left off Mauk until a decision is made.

Many people are down on SU, but this upcoming season should be the breakout year. All of GROB's recruites will be on the field and SU gets back Delone Carter. I think SU will be alot better we were young this past season and now the kids have a years experience especially. Many people expected UCONN to finish in the bottom with SU this past season, all they did was win the conference along with WVU.

thats what everybody keeps saying about Pitt. I would think that both will start to make strides forward, but so far it hasn't translated to victories.

Did you bring in a whole new offensive line? That was one of the biggest problems you seemed to have this past season. You have a good QB, and great recievers.

I think most of the teams in the conference are very close to each other. There are no clear separations outside WVU and CUSE. Anyone can win.

Maize - UCONN does not lack speed at any position. In fact, UCONN team is pretty fast. Whether some of our skill players step up or not is another story. Our WR corp has to improve. Our OL has to improve. Our D is very very good already.

I'm going to wait until I SEE progress before I start talking about any. According to rivals.com Pitt has had the best recruiting class 3 years in a row. That should have translated into more victories than I've seen. I'm not going to get started on Syracuse. There's too much ammo, and I don't want to leave any dead or wounded out there.

Grag Moore is not a big loss at all. Jacob Ramsey was getting the starts at the end of the year. ben mauk could be back as said before. Earnest Jackson i don't think started, that was 2-sport athlete Connor Barwin. I'm pretty sure Chris Jurek(Fr.) started at Center. The DE's and Nakamura will be very hard to replace, but Nelms showed great potential at the end of the year and should be a very solid player. I don't think Tolbert is a senior(but i could be wrong).

RE: Like ESPN My Very Early BIG EAST Football Predictions
WVU's offense will be loaded. The defense is a question mark, but since the coaching staff on the defensive side remains pretty much intact (i.e. not many defections to Michigan), I'm not real concerned. I think Stewart will have a great start to his Mountaineer coaching career. I'd love to see an unbeaten start.

Will it happen? We'll find out soon enough.

1. WVU ya still got to beat the big dog 05-mafia
2. UC they don't lose games they shouldn't, like... :ncaabbs:
3. USF will return strong in '08, but loses too many games they shouldn't ... still got to correct that 05-nono
4-8. With our bowl lineup, does it really matter? 01-wingedeagle
Who is worthy, and who isn't, will have to wait until the fall 04-cheers

Well, there were Louisville and Pitt. Yes, they're TALENTED, but we shouldn't lose to them every single time - especially this past year.
