Rice to leave to the NFL
But don't worry BE fans Ru has 3 backup RB's that are were all recruited as 4 stars waiting in the wings 04-jawdrop. This also has a positive to it because a play that our OC seems fond of is Rice up the middle. Maybe with more backs we will see a new type offense with better play calling. Anyway wish Ray the best of luck. He is damn sure the best RB to ever walk through RU.

No matter how good the back ups are, it will be hard for them to repalce Rice

This is true. But I think at this point in time we don't need them to replace rice just to develop enough to continue the running game.

It's amazing to think that when Rutgers could win 8 games, including a bowl game, and it's still viewed as a disappointment. Just goes to show you how far Rutgers has come under Schiano.

I think the one game that really stung for Rutgers had to be Maryland. That was an OOC at home against an ACC team that they should have won. Win that game, they have 9 wins, and a much better season overall. Funny how one game can change the complexion of a season.

But - - had Rutgers finished with 8 regular season wins, would they still have gone to the International Bowl against Ball State? I believe they would have. It would have been an even greater travesty.

We need our bowl situation fixed, pronto.

That's why the Big East needs to improve its bowl slot, even if it means just adding one more major bowl. Example, imagine if the Big East had a bowl like the Liberty Bowl? Then that means that, at the least, Cincinnati would have played an SEC team in a major bowl. Cincinnati fans would have flooded the Liberty Bowl and we would have been rewarded well with a major, nearly New Year's Bowl against a BCS opponent. And since that would have been a higher profile team (being a team from a BCS/SEC conference), a win probably shoots Cincinnati into the Top 15 and helps our preseason standings for next year.

Good luck to Rice - he's ready for the NFL.

Glad we don't have to face him next year, but he did the Big East proud.

Paul Robeson may still have that mantle. As he made the Top 100 of all time list that came out this year and is in the College FB Hall of Fame. Ray Rice and Brian Leonard are certainly #2 and #3 on our school all-time list.
