Vote for the WAC
ESPN.com has a poll asking which is the best mid-major conference:

Lol!!! lmfao

The funniest thing about that poll is that the mounting waste conference is listed as a mid-major in basketball. :shhh:

All I've ever heard from their fans is: "The mid weiner (mwc) is not considered mid-major for college basketball, only football. Hence, the reason we don't participate in bracketbusters." 05-footinmouth

That poll needs to be saved to show to the weiner goats whenever they get on their high-horse about not being a mid-major in bball.

I'm offended that they mentioned us in the same poll as the WAC. We have 3 teams in our conference with roughly equal or better RPI's than Nevada. Who else should they throw in there, the sunbelt?

In all honesty, the Missouri Valley is the #1 mid-major. That's if they are still considered a mid-major. Pretty impressive when they have all of their teams in the top half of the RPI.

It's funny (and perhaps a little sad) how the MVC is still considered a "Mid-Major" while the MWC is mostly refered to as one of the 7 power conferences.

lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao

By who? You and Cowboy Junky?

There are six power conferences, 4-5 mid tier conferences, and the "mid majors." Don't even try to pretend that a conference that has only won a combined total of 5 NCAA tourney games in 7 years is a "power conference." If anything the MWC has woefully underachieved in the postseason with Utah the only team making ANY noise. (Okay Wyoming did win one game in there as well.)

ESPN has the MWC logo as part of their men's basketball background with the other 6 power conferences. And as far as our 5 wins, that's overachieving considering the fact that we've only had 2 favored seeds in 7 years. We always get screwed on the seeding, but at least we aren't a "Mid-Major" like the WAC is. Keep laughing while your conference keeps falling behind and keeps falling apart. 01-wingedeagle

Hello you are retarded aren't you? The MWC has gotten low seeds because the teams have been less than stellar, not because you have been screwed over. In the short history of the league, only Utah in 2005 has been an impressive team. Other than that the teams have been pretty mediocre. That is just a fact, not even my own biased opinion. And it is rather contradictary to claim on one hand that the MWC is percieved as a major conference, but then claim that it doesn't receive any respect. 01-wingedeagle

And an FYI, since the split in 1999 the MWC has earned less than the WAC, C-USA, the MVC, and the A-10.

Wow.

You have made quite a splash. And since you want to compare what the major conferences have in their current credits compared to the MWC look at the disparity.

ACC $14,149,120 (80 credits)
Big XII $14,325,984 (81 credits)
Big East $14,856,576 (84 credits)
Big Ten $13,087,936 (74 credits)
PAC-10 $11,849,888 (67 credits)
SEC $13,087,936 (74 credits)

and then the "7th Power league" the Mountain Goat League

MWC $3,183,552 (18 credits)

When these other leagues have over 4 times as many current credits, I'd say that you really are way off in left field.

BTW these are the leagues that are considered "mid majors." From the words of college insider.

Quote:NOTE: The Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Continent, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Sun Belt, West Coast.

Where is the WAC there? 01-wingedeagle I have never seen a someone post so much and say absolutely nothing of value or substance.

Who's the 1 mallet head that voted for Winthrop? Did he/she did that just to be different?

Of the teams in those conferences that are part of that poll, Southern Illinois is the best of that bunch FAR AND AWAY.

It is a bit strange to see Gonzaga at #13 after being a unanimous #1 for the past several seasons. I don't think USU ever finished below #10 since 1998. and usually were in the top 5.

Everybody has off years I guess.

Good to see a MWC fan here that wants to talk sports. Keep coming.
