Outside WVU and Cuse, I don't see much difference between all other teams. Any of those teams can win or lose on any given night tier ranking is not accurate.

Darn Syracuse really blew it firing Pasqualoni, I just remember there was such a large outcry to fire him. The guy's recruiting was getting worst and he couldn't find a quality QB. That 2004 season Syracuse was lucky just to get 6 wins (we tied for 1st in BE), I am more upset that our previous AD & School President choose to retire, after not getting in ACC leaving SU FB in a pickle. I truley think the ACC mess has negatively affected SU the most. 7-28 is just icing on cake to many people in CNY03-puke

Gotta disagree with you their SF Husky. Until this past season WVU and Louisville was pretty much in a death struggle for control of BIG EAST Football and if you look at the 2 games between the teams in 2005/2006 Louisville controlled those games except for the 4th Quarter/OT in 2005. Also only 3 BIG EAST teams have beaten every single BIG EAST team since realignment and they are WVU, UofL and USF.

Tier I
West Virginia
Louisville

Tier II
South Florida

Tier III
Rutgers
UConn
Pittsburgh
Cincinnati

Tier IV
Syracuse

RE: Ranking the BE from 05 (realignment) to now
1. WVU (2-0 in BCS bowls gives them the clear nod)
2. UL (based on 2005-6, would have tied them w/WVU, but fell behind this year)
3. RU (slightly ahead of USF based on strong 2006, otherwise even)
4. USF (bowls in all three seasons)
5. UC (rebuilding 2005 drops them clearly below RU/USF)
6. UConn (behind Pitt going into this season, but the surprise 2007 vaults them ahead)
7. Pitt (haven't done a thing, but that figures to change soon)
8. SU (two league wins in three years; need to get going again)

Can't say I agree with this if we were going by Tier rankings

Tier I
West Virginia
Louisville

Tier II
Rutgers
South Florida
Cincinnati

Tier III
UConn
Pittsburgh

Tier IV
Syracuse

South Florida has not earned a step up above the rest of the BE teams. RU although we didn't ever beat WVU (3 ot's is as close as you can get to not actually winning) We still have a 2-1 record against USF more bowl appearances bowl wins and if USF doesn't finish ranked then more top 25 finishes. UC can also say the same regarding USF. UC is 2-1 against USF and they have more bowl wins and top 25 finishes. Although Usf has had more success against WVU and UL boasting a 2-1 record against those two teams. They have not proved that they are a tier above RU and UC based on their on feild performance
As for Pitt. They really haven't done anything to be mentioned with the likes of RU USF UC. They are however a step above Syracuse. Uconn would probably be the hardest to rank. They have had success this year but their previous two years are syracusesque. So based on the three year performance I would put them in the same tier with Pitt considering they almost have identical records. Remember this isn't how good everyone is now (because if that were the case Uconn would be a step up and UL a step down ) but it's how they have performed the previous 3 years

RE: Ranking the BE from 05 (realignment) to now
WVU and UofL were the top two until this year.

Louisville came back to the rest of the pack. WVU has been beaten by other teams, but they still own the league for the most part. They did have a few chinks in their armor this year.

Pitt has beaten UC each time they have played (unfortunately), so it's difficult to say that they are not on par with UC. Overall UC has certainly performed better and have the results to show it.

RE: Ranking the BE from 05 (realignment) to now
I agree with UltimateCFBFan that I disagree with all the tier rankings I've seen posted. I even disagree with his. The only way I see it is this...

TIER I
West Virginia 33-5

TIER II
Louisville 27-10
Rutgers 26-12
South Florida 24-14
Cincinnati 22-15

TIER III
Uconn 18- 18
Pittsburgh 14-16

TIER IV
Syracuse 7-28

I say you climb from tier to tier by winning. And making the line of demarcation based on powers of 10 makes sense - and is easy to figure. Anything else is subjective, and open to interpretation.
