In this article, it states that Dooley will make between 300-400K per season. That's progress. It says that the assistants will also receive a pay-raise. That's progress. It says that in 2008, we'll have six home games. That's progress. It says that, from now on, we'll limit our money games to two per year. That's progress.

I understand that these are things that should've been adopted a long time ago. Well, they weren't. Better late than never!

This is evidence that things are changing in the athletic department. Obviously I'm a fan of the hire, but what's more exciting than the hire is the commitment to change some of the things that have been holding us back (coaching salaries, money games, home games).

I never thought a I-A head coach could actually make less than $400K a year. Bob Toledo (New Mexico's OC) just got hired at Tulane, and I figure even those poor Nawlins bastards can afford to pay him $400,000/year. Why else would a guy move there?

Now I wonder who is the lowest paid head coach in I-A.
I also kinda wonder who's the highest paid head coach in I-AA.

Lowest Paid Coach: UL-Monroe: 130k

(Several of the private schools don't report their data)

Highest paid Non-BCS coach is Pat Hill at 1.2 mil.

Yep. The WAC's Master Plan calls for all schools to take certain actions in order to move the conference forward...and Tech has definitely taken a big step forward.

Congrats to the Dawgs.
