How are WAC Bowl Tickets sales going so far?
As of a couple of days ago, the Hawaii Bowl has sold over 36K tickets. The organizers expect between 45 and 50K fans in the stands on game day. We'll keep you posted.
What about the other 3 WAC Bowls?

I don't thiink MPC Bowl ticket sales are going well. Many Boise fans will be in Arizona (I've heard ~10K), while an estimated 2K-3K Nevada fans already had plans to be in Seattle. In Miami, they can't give tickets away.
As of a few days ago, Nevada had sold only a few hundred tickets, and expected a crowd of about 1000. Hopefully, some people are just waiting to see if the weather is okay for driving. It's also unknown how many are buying tickets direct (as cheap as $15, compared to $50 if purchased through Nevada).
I'm trying to be optimistic, but....

Wonder how many tickets Boise must sell for the Fiesta? Not that it matters...because it's still a "cha ching" game.
I heard Miami didn't travel well. Actually, very few of those East coast teams travel well to the west coast.
That's why I'm high on the WAC gaining the Emerald Bowl.
Not only does the East Coast conferences not travel well to the west...but they "publicly" slam the Bowls to whom ever will listen.
In 2010, the Bowl should be ours...and we'll need it.
I'm predicting we'll have 6 Bowl eligible teams next year...so we're going to need to make another trip to the BCS again next year.

I had heard that 17,000 tix have been sold so far.
I'd love to see maybe 22,000 for a non-Bronco bowl on the blue.

Fiesta Bowl ticket sales
Boise sold out its 17,500 allotment last week. None of those went to OK fans. I expect Boise to have at least 20 to 25K in the stands on 1/1.

I know Boise sold their allotment, but also heard many tickets were purchased with the hope of turning a profit. I can believe 25K people rooting for Boise, but how many of those will actually be travelling from Boise (and thus unable to attend the MPC Bowl)? If the exodus is truly that large, I could almost have Bronco stadium to myself! ;-)

MPC bowl director said over 17k tickets out so far. Looks like maybe 23-25K at the game at this pace.

I think the MPC will do fine.
Who wouldn't want to see Nevada and Miami?
If you think Miami's team speed is incredible on TV, just wait till you see it live.

The initial number included the 3000 tickets that Nevada and Miami were each obligated to buy. Of the remaining 11K, you'd have to figure some of them are people who have subsequently made plans to go to Arizona.
But the only thing I know for sure is that I'll be there, so I'll go ahead and buy the optimistic estimates...a crowd of 25K will be great.

Update in today's paper on the MPC claims 20k+ tickets sold so far. Demand increasing.

Fiesta Bowl
CLP,
Not all Boise fans will be coming from Boise. I am in DC; I know others here who are going. I have friends and relatives from Seattle that are going.
Further, I don't think the Boise contingent (for the most part) bought tickets so they could sell them on e-bay or stubhub. For example, the students cannot pick up there tickets until gameday (in Phoenix) and must present the student ID used to purchase the ticket.
But who's quibbling about numbers. There is going to be a big Boise crowd at the game.

Hawaii Bowl: Over 38,300 tickets sold before the start of this mornings (Wednesday) sales. Should easily go over the 40K mark by tomorrow's closing of the ticket office , with 3 days (Friday, Saturday and game day Sunday) left till kick-off.

I fgured we'd be over 40K by now. Ticket sales are going too slow.

Where I work, the giveaways for the MPC are out in force.
Of course, there has been a year or two with similar giveaways and worse crowds than the one projected now. We'll see, I guess.
