Jimbo Fisher
So, this guy has quickly become the #1 candidate for the Tech job. This would be huge for Tech to steal LSU's OC when LSU is on our schedule next year. I don't really know what's happening at Tech. They are showing an athletic commitment that I've not seen in my time as a fan. It's very exciting.

Glad to see it JL. We incumbent WAC schools definitely need to do what we can to "match" the intensity of the new WAC schools.

NMSU has made all the right moves up to this point...and Hawaii is losing too many recruiting battles to Hal and the Aggies now.

Recruits visit NMSU, and they gush about their great facilities, campus, ...and all that stuff.

UH is an old school...and not a lot of cash has been spent to upgrade or modernize anything (...except for the Field Turb at Aloha Stadium...and the NFL picked up most of the tab for that).

Keep us posted on the coaching situation.

It's down to Fisher and Dooley...should know something concrete by Monday. Admins are pulling out all the stops to land Fisher. I really don't know where they are finding all this money. I'm not complaining though. Word is, the hold up has to do with assistant's salaries and recruiting budgets. I think it's great that Fisher is fighting for these things.

I don't know what has come over our administration, but we are going to be moving from the bottom of the barrell, with regard to coaching salaries, to the upper half. Obviously, this means more to me as a Tech fan than it would mean to you, but this is great news for the WAC as well.

From everything written about him, Dooley is a heck of a great candidate too. Tech can not go wrong with Fisher or Dooley.

Looking forward to a completely different Tech football team attitude next season. Thank god Bicknell finally got the axe!!!!!!!

Look for Louisiana Tech to announce the new head football coach early next week. It won't be announced over the weekend.

What's the feeling in Ruston? Will it be Fisher?

Getting conflicting reports...my money is on Dooley.

If we got him for the right price, I think it was a good decision. Jimbo was a great name, but I don't think it was worth 600K.

600K is a lot of cash for Tech.

If Tech is able to recoup that money in spades with Fisher...then that's OK. But how does Tech cough up that kind of money and still end up in the black at the end of the day.

I think the great thing though...is that a big time coach like Fisher would leave LSU for La. Tech.

Yep. Tech can't go wrong with either coach.

One source says Dooley will fly to Ruston tonight after the Dolphins game to tour the campus. He will be named HC tomorrow. The more I read about this guy, the more I like him. He was Nick Saban's assistant HC and is supposed to be a great recruiter. Plus, he's got a law degree so our administration won't be able to pull a fast one with his contract.

For all the complaining I do about the Tech administration, I've got to tip my hat to them on this coaching search. We've conducted this search the right way and we're finally moving into the 21st century from a money stand-point.

There are some reports that Fisher was trying to take us for a ride and one of our big donors sniffed it out and put an end to it. I think Tech is getting the right man for the job. He apparently wowed the administration in his interview. I can't wait for the press conference.

GO DAWGS!!!!
