Hmmmm....I guess my (blue) Aggies "regressed" this football season. If by regressed you mean: sucked, couldn't beat their way out of a wet paper bag, would've been so-so in 1-AA, and became what we affectionately refer to as "football roadkill."

After Hawaii played the Blue Aggies, I'm actually more impressed with Guy now, than I was last year.
I think he's probably going to build a decent program in Logan. Definitely want to keep him around.

The beauties of those numbers are:
1) they don't mean too much;
2) the way this board is going, you'll have ample opportunity to examine them over, and over, and over, and over......
I'm not sure you "need" a drink (or did when you posted that, anyway), but you sure as heck deserve one! :drinky2:

Good info CL.
At least something to discuss besides who hates whom the most - vandals or broncos - LOL
Even though NMSU played a much watered down OOC schedule from 2005 to 2006 (two 1AA opponents instead of Cal and Colorado [why couldn't we have played Colorado THIS year instead of last?]) the Aggie offense improved tremendously - even more than it shows on paper IMO.
In 2005 a lot of our yardage and scores were achieved against 2nd and 3rd stringers. We were out of most games by halftime. This year most of our results were achieved against the first string, and we were in the game all the way. I think Nevada was the only exception.
Next year could bring more of the same as all of our offensive starters return (defense - that's another story...).

I've already predicted that the Red Aggies will represent the WAC in the NM Bowl next year...and I'm sticking with it.
The Ags were a very good team this year. Close losses against UTEP and UNM were indications that this team could hang with just about anybody.
Hal was definitely the right man for the job.

Three pluses
The three teams that were in the pluses in all categories were:
Hawai'i
San Jose State
New Mexico State
Glad my Spartans were among them.

NMSU will win 7 games next year. NMSU will play 13 games. I think we can beat both UNM, and UTEP next year, and win the two-div-1aa schools. So I think we could be 4-1 going into WAC play. I think we will beat Idaho, Utah State, and LTech, and hopefully, maybe we can pull an upset on San Jose State or Fresno State since we got fresno in Cruces next year. But right now If NMSU wins 7 games next year we will automatic get the New Mexico Bowl bid. I know Nevada fans are going to say I'm full of it, but Nevada better hope who ever wins the WAC gets a better bowl game, because next year NMSU might just take their bowl bid away from them.
