I've even heard 8000. My guess is we won't travel as well to this bowl as the last two due to location being in a cold weather city and more importantly being after the holidays making it more difficult to take time off. (I know I won't be going due to the latter.)

That is something I will never understand. Bowl games, other than BCS Bowls, being after the holidays.

It is just DUMB! 04-chairshot

If Rutgers can get 6-8,000 to the International Bowl that would be huge. I read somewhere that Ball State has sold around 1,500 tickets. The Big East really needs an upgrade in its bowl arrangements.

I know it's cold & after the holidays, but it's shame Toronto is fun place. Right now there calling for 35 as high & 33 for low on 1/5/08 & game indoors, wouldn't be that bad.

The reason the International Bowl is in January probably so it gives fans a chance to get passports and travel schedules prepared.

Yea I've always wanted to visit Toronto to boot and this would be a good excuse to go. However just starting in a full-time position with the University I have no vacation time to use.

RE: Any news on rutgers bowl sales?
Myself and three others are driving up on Friday 1/04, hoping to get there in time for the pep rally scheduled for Friday at the HQ hotel (Westin Castle Harbour) where we are staying. Also made reservations for the tailgate party on Saturday before the game. I've also always wanted to see Toronto, but between the game and other events and the fact that we need to head back on Sunday (work on Monday) I don't think we'll see much more than the Rogers Centre, hotel and a few drinking establishments.

Have to make another trip up with the Mrs some day.

04-cheers

You can thank ESPN for that. They sought out bowl games that would be willing to play on the weekend before the BCS title game. They wanted to move the Alamo, but they declined.

Toronto is a great visit, and an indoors game won't present weather problems.

passport thing is a real PITA. It's Canada, for God's Sake. It's not like the game's being held in Pakistan.
