Fox News just reported that Benazir Bhutto was killed in a sucide bomb attack following a rally in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

I'm going with #1, for 1000, Bob. Although, I won't say it's Al Qaeda, just Islamic Fundamentalists.

Update:... Some really wierd things went down...

1. Bhutto was shot twice with a AK-47 before the bomber blew himself up.

2. Bhutto disappeared fro 30 minutes before showing up at a hospital in critical condition.

How did the killer get a AK-47 through security and that close to Bhutto? Might have inside help from the Security services?

Why not take her to the closest hospital... unless they thought a second hit team was waiting for her there?

Meanwhile back in Karachi... Riots everywhere..... This just gives Musharraf an excuse for a "State of Emergency"... unless this is the start of a military coup that takes out Musharraf as well. Maybe he will now "un-resign" and get back into the Army?

Things are really F-'d up over there.

I didn't read all the follow up comments but I am going to have to agree somewhat with you. While I do think some of his policies helped this happen, I can not blame Bush for this. It was probably Al-Qaeda or the Taliban that was responsible for this.

We murder the best of us and elect the worst of us. How the human race has survived to this point is beyond me.

Take one look around at the world we're living in and tell me this is the best we can do as a race. Nobody is free from fault. We're all in this together.

I don't think there will ever be a time when you DO have the best and brightest running everything.

Historians say that Thomas Jefferson was a failure as president and he was a genius.

Looks like Musharraf will still be in power.

Situation normal for the US.

In Karachi, capital of Ms Bhutto's native Sindh province, thousands took to the streets, torching dozens of vehicles and buildings.
How the hell did they ever get nukes?

Apathy. Same thing could happen in Iran.

A. Q. Khan was the "Robert Oppenheimer" of the Paki Nuke Program... he guided it from start to finish..

This guy is VERY BAD NEWS...Then he decided to go "Free Agent" and sell nuclear weapon designs and nuclear technology to any nation that had the cash, with at least the implicit permission of the Pakistan Government. When his activities came to light, Musharraf put him under "house arrest" for a few months, then gave him a full pardon.

Khan has also refused to be interviewed by US Intelligence as to his clients and activities....

IMO, he should have been "whacked" years ago...

Among Khan's KNOWN clients:

North Korea
Iran
Libya

Khan's rumored/suspected clients:
Saudi Arabia,
Syria.

How the hell did Israel ever get nukes? One leads to another.

BTW, Fanatical, these are mostly the "good" people doing that(ie. non-fundamentalist: non-Al-Q, non-Taliban) but it seems like you think all Pakistani's are fundamentalist. You should watch something other than Faux news.

Israel doesn't have the destruction of another culture as one of their tenets. That's why they're trusted with Nukes.....if they even have them. Nice try though.
