CSTV already sucks...
During their pregame show, their "experts" picked the top 8 conferences. That would be the top six conferences and, amazingly, their client customers, the MWC and CUSA. So they cover only their own non-BCS customers? How pathetic is that?

Yoda out...

To be fair, really no different than Fox Sports pretending only the Pac-10 and Big 12 exist.

Well
To my surprise, I'm watching CSTV who is broadcasting UTEP/SDSU on Charter cable. I got so sucked in the message boards, I thought I'd be watching wheel of fortune!

Last year they did pick some games from other conferences but toward the end of the season. I remember them picking Fresno big over Nevada last year on that program.

The MWC fans seemed to think that the deal was going to be equal with ESPN. Here's just a few of the things that have went south besides not getting the regional network available on satellite and in all MWC markets.

1) Comcast came in and lowered standards that CSTV, in my opinion, stupidly promised to the MWC. CSTV guaranteed every game on TV, Comcast immediately backed off that claim.

2) Web streaming that isn't available in all stadiums. The WAC got it done, some MWC stadiums still aren't fitted to webcast (Wyoming for example, so don't expect a web stream for BSU-Wyoming) two years after the deal with CSTV

3) The imperative need that games had to start between 12pm and 6pm local time on Saturdays. Let's not pretend that these networks don't revolve around the east coast. If CSTV wants to get in three games on a given week, they have to start early and they have to get in a I-AA, C-USA or Navy game every week. If they would have at least allowed for a late start on Saturdays (and I'm talking maybe a 7pm or 8pm local start time) they might get more games on CSTV.

4) The lack of cooperation with local broadcasters. This is specifically because they dealt with Comcast, a cable company. Comcast doesn't want a product they own to be available on broadcast television. Obviously the BSU-Wyoming thing has ticked off the folks in Boise, but the shitstorm that BYU fans are causing because of the inability to get these games on tape-delay is a real problem. Like it or not BYU is the flagship of those nine schools because of the Mormon religion all across the country.

I like that CSTV is available and this might pay off in the end, but in the short term, fans are being used as pawns and the conference whored itself and is holding a somewhat empty bag (although its also counting the cash).

I think the key word in discribing CSTV is Blackmail and Hostage taking.
