From the looks of that schedule, C-USA teams are going to be looking elsewhere. This is compared to the WAC's 10 games listed here;

It has alot to do with where CUSA teams reside, ie tv sets. It's an opportunity cost that the networks are willng to gamble on. It's not a direct reflection of our commisioner's efforts or our relative play on the field, IMO

I agree, but we need to come up with some answers. UTEP is looking very smart for moving eastward. I hope this doesn't turn out to be the case for basketball, also, because the WAC is a great BB conference.

CUSA Bball exposure >>>>>> WAC BBall exposure.

We do have more TV games, that's just our home TV schedule, covered under contract.

I like C-USA's up front games that will be on ESPN or CSTV. But, how will the fans watch the games "not" on ESPN or CSTV?

There was some complaining about warehousing of games on ESPN. Is this a form of warehousing by CSTV?

How do the fans see those games?

C-USA controlled games not on ESPN or CSTV are available through an online streaming package (think WAC.TV). I bought it last year for about $50.

Some local networks also pay CSTV to air a few games in their local markets.

Not only did UTEP luck out with more TV exposure in C-USA..but we also got more bowl opportunities and the TV revenue is almost ten times than what we used to get with the WAC.

There is one more tv game for CUSA which was not listed on the schedule you pointed to. The Tulsa at BYU game will be aired on the MTN channel. Why CUSA didn't bother to list it among the tv games for the conference I have no idea. All I can figure is that maybe they think the level of tv exposure one gets from the MTN is pretty much insignificant. I could be wrong but I don't believe the MTN is available in any of the CUSA cities.

That's right. Last year most UTEP football games were on live tv.

1. @NMSU-ESPNU(since we don't have ESPNU one of our local stations(Channel 14 the FOX affiliate) purchased the rights to the game and aired it live to the El Paso-Las Cruces area).

2.Houston-ESPN2

3. New Mexico-CSTV

4. @Memphis-CSTV

5. @Tulane-ESPN

6. Marshall-PAX(last year CSTV outsourced some games to PAX and were seen on every PAX station in the country. Actually PAX is now known as the I-network)

7. @Rice-PAX(I-network)

8. Tulsa-no live tv

9. Texas Southern-no live tv

10. UAB-PAX(I-network)

11. @SMU-No national tv for this one but Time Warner purchased the rights from CSTV and aired the game live in the El Paso area through its local Metro Sports channel.

12. GMAC Bowl(Mobile, Alabama) vs Toledo-ESPN

So there you have it. Out of 12 games only 2(home games vs Tulsa and Texas Southern) were not aired live nationally and/or locally.
