Cuz homers enjoy homers.
If TCU and Boise State are both undefeated, BSU doesn't make a BCS Bowl (sound familiar?). And if the Frogs beat OU last year, they can beat TT this year.
TCU has a better chance of beating Baylor than Boise State does beating Oregon State. BYU has a better chance of beating Arizona than Nevada does of beating Northwestern. Utah has a better chance of beating UCLA than Fresno State does of beating Oregon or Hawaii beating Alabama. BYU has a better chance of beating Boston College than Fresno beating LSU or Nevada beating Arizona State.
You sure are good at begging for attention, eldermars. But I'm not playin'.

1. Big Ten
2. SEC (Ol' Miss, MSU, Kentucky and Vandy always seem to be rebuilding)
3. Big Twelve
4. ACC (Too much parity and no clear cut favorite(s) this year)
5. Pac 10
6. Big East
7. MWC
8. WAC
9. CUSA (Way too much parity + way too much mediocrity)
10. Southern Conference (1-AA)
11. Sunbelt (They really need to step it up)
I'm a Big East fan (WVU) and would like to thank you for the love being shown, but I would rate us 6th. At the top, I think that WVU and Louisville compare favorably with USC and Cal or Oregon for this upcoming season, but after that the rest of the conference has to prove it can compete in OOC competition. Pitt should be 3rd this year, but how strong a 3rd remains to be seen. South Florida is a sleeping giant given it's location and enrollment. Their future scares me. It was only 25 years ago or so that Florida State and Miami began their rise to the top. The state of Florida has so many high school players and I'm sure that some would prefer to stay close to home instead of going north which is why I'm so very high on a school that's only being playing football for nine years.
I do love talking about college football.

This was the way the conferences finished in 2005 according to Sagarin. I doubt it will change much in 2006.
2005 Overall Conference Rankings
1 Big 10 Conference (11) 80.6
2 Big 12 Conference (12) 80.0
3 Pacific 10 Conference (10) 78.7
4 Atlantic Coast Conf. (12) 78.3
5 Southeastern Conference (12) 74.9
6 Big East Conference (8) 72.4
7 Mountain West Conf. (9) 69.6
8 Conference USA (12) 64.7
9 Mid-American Conf. (13) 62.3
10 Western Athletic Conf. (9) 61.5
11 Sunbelt Conference (8) 54.2

I think things will change because I don't see Big 12 being as good as it was last year. There are no teams that really jump out at you there and with Oklahoma losing their QB that could hurt OK and the Big 12. I think Pac-10 will be stronger than last year I also think SEC will be stronger than last year. But I would expect Big 12 to change but those numbers are sometimes flawed.

I disagree. I think the Big 12 will be about the same. Texas will be a little down but they are still a BCS bowl team. OU is better...even without their QB. They still have a guy named Adrian Peterson who I hear is pretty darn good. I expect them to have 1 B12 loss and MAYBE a loss to Oregon because of how early it is. Basically I think both Texas and OU go back to the BCS this year (even though neither will play for the national title unless Texas somehow beats Ohio State). Nebraska will be better. A&M has to improve on last year. The only schools I see going down are Kansas and Texas Tech because of how high they actually were last year.

Big 12 will only get one team into the BCS I think. It will probably be Texas. Oklahoma needs something more because you can't be a one man team. Texas A&m has some work to do and Nebraska, this is the do or die year for Callahan. There really isn't a team out of the Big 12 than maybe Texas that really has a BCS feel to them going into the season.

Oklahoma has the BCS feel as well. With the extended BCS their at most 2 losses and Adrian Peterson is enough to get them in. Even though they lose their QB the only Big 12 game they can lose is Texas. AND even though Texas loses their QB and STUD runningback/reciver the only team in the Big 12 they could lose to is Oklahoma.

Well I just got a new grill and I'll have 3 weeks to look up some good crow recipes for ya...
All I can remember about GT last year was their blowout loss to Utah in the Emerald bowl. Notre Dame, on the other hand, is aiming for a National Championship.

That's the Georgia Tech way... duh.
Beat #3 Miami in the Orange Bowl .... forget to even show up against Utah.
Beat Top 10 Auburn on the road .... lose to Duke.
Beat Top 10 Auburn at home .... lose to NC State.
Beat a host of Top 25 ACC teams ... forget to even show up against Georgia (a blowout so bad that if Chan Gailey pulled that stunt later in his coaching career, he'd likely be gone).
There's incredible Reggie... then there's awful Reggie. Incredible Reggie tends to show up for the big games, like at home against Auburn after the BYU game. Awful Reggie tends to show up for lesser teams that Tech should beat, like on the road against BYU, or against Utah in one of the worst bowls ever conceived (oh yes, I <3 games played in crappy baseball stadiums....).

I won't disagree that the Emerald bowl sucks. The MWC got out for a reason.
It's sad to see any team pack it in though.
