RE: RRod meets with Michigan?
The truth is coach rod leaving now is better than him leaving a year ago. He knows the BE can survive without hm. Michigan brings in more money than any other program. With that come the expectations that the team will be elite every year. I think the year of the elite team is gone forever. There's more parity across the board in football and anyone can pretty much beat anyone else.
Miami still has an all star roster but their worse season in many. may years. Appl. State took Michigan to task this year. There have been a number of upsets of #2 ranked teams. The BE is about a five team conference when it was a two team conference two years ago.
There just a lot of talent spread all over now. ROd will have to make Michigan that much better than everyone else. It will be a tough job and worth every peeny he makes if he goes but there's a lot less pressure and lot more job security in Morgantown.

Spot on! They will do what is best for their selves and their families, just like the rest of us! Money talks.

I'm not sure it is a huge money issue. We may or not see all the detalls of a Michigan deal but I think RR is in line to make a good bit over 2 mil next year at WVU. It is also built in that the more success his program has the more he will make. No matter what happens he is set to coach many more years and his family will be very well off. Like Nehlen before him he had earned quite a few years where fans would have given him the benefit of the doubt.
You have to believe the prestige factor is there and that is where the loyalty comes into play. Like the Furfari article states WVU and their supporters with their big contributions felt invested in bringing WVU into the elite program level. Michigan's level was probably not realistic because they are probably a top 3-4 program but maybe top 10. That will be hard to achieve if coaches view this as a stepping stone to greener pastures.
Like Furfari also stated this may be a no win situation for WVU and RR may have a tough time with his supporters and bosses. Hopefully the bridges have not already been burned.
