The 2008 Rock and Roll HOF class includes Madonna, but no KISS? What gives?

I was listening to Howard Stern a few weeks ago and he interviewed Darryl Hall (Hall and Oates) and he mentioned how the Rock and Roll Hall-of-Fame was completely political, and I agree completely with him.

There are some bands who absolutely should be in the R&R HOF and the fact that they aren't is absurd.

Rush, for instance. I have no idea why they aren't in the HOF.

RUSH isn't worthy. That's why.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been selling out for years too, and it sucks.

I've never seen Rocky Horror Picture Show, so I can't say. Never really wanted to see it, but i'm told its a fun movie.

36, while I agree that Kiss deserves some mention, I doubt that Gene, sitting atop his mountain of money, gives a crap.

Then again, a HOF bid would be another quick buck opportunity for the tonguemaster

Getty Lee's screeching voice just sets my teeth on edge.

I definitely think Rush is a love or hate kind of band. Everyone I know either loves them or hates them, nobody is in the middle.

I agree with Rush about once in a blue moon. I think he's an opinionated jerk. But different strokes...

As long as Little Feat remains uninducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it isn't a real Hall of Fame for Rock & Roll. They influenced a lot of musicians over the years.

Good point. I played HS basketball with a guy who was a total KISS freak. Biggest KISS fan I ever met. Last year he went to Cleveland with a bunch of other KISS fans. They all dressed up in their KISS costumes and picketed the HOF because KISS wasn't yet inducted.

I agree as far as his early stuff. I can only listen to about 1980 onwards, when his voice mellowed and he stopped really shrieking.

But yeah, they're definitely a "love em or hate em" type band.

It seems that most who hate them have the problem with Getty's voice.
