Yet Alice Cooper still waits? Whether one likes KISS or not, they should be there before Cicchone. And regarding that "commercialism" finger pointing, they ALL are in to make money, geez. Also Rush should be there before Cicchone.

Heck, Three Dog Night was a groundbreaking band for their time and they're never even mentioned.

Are you serious? I mean, I feel like i'm waiving a gay pride flag when i'm saying this but, Madonna is one of the biggest names ever in music. Now if your mad because you consider what she does should not be listed under the term "rock" then maybe i see why your mad. Other than that, she should be in there.

I agree...Madonna set a precedent for women in rock (well, pop) music, and her legacy is deserving of an induction..

As far as her music being considered "rock," yeah, I can see the problem, but if that's all they're considering, leonard cohen shouldn't be an inductee, either.

I may be giving my age away, but I have always liked the Dave Clark Five, with songs like "Do you love me", "Because" and "Glad all over". Congratulations to them and all the others, 'cept maybe Madonna. :)

i've never looked over the complete list until now, but it's obvious that the rock & roll hall of fame covers a much bigger range of music than just "rock & roll."

it's going to be interesting after a few more years to see who makes "the cut..."
Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record, so we're around 1982 now.

in about 15 more years, we'll start seeing the 'copycat artists.' britney spears will get in...yikes.

I went to the MSC to see the DC5 with the opening act - Ace Cannon.

I liked the DC5, but they were a "Beatles me too" group in my mind. "Catch Us If You Can" became a slogan for a ton of college football teams in that ers, but I just never thought that there was a lot of ground breaking stuff from them.....IMHO Billy Lee Riley broke more ground than they did.

Having said all of that, I certaninly understand your liking their music, I did too.
