I suspect there are many Cowboys fans in this area for the same reason there are many Steelers fans around here. They were to the two dominant teams in the 70s when many of us formed our NFL allegiances, and with no other viable NFL teams in the area (Cardinals, Falcons, and Saints weren't viable back then) plus the fact that every one of their games were on TV here, a lot of fans were born.

Whenever the Cowboys are on the road, notice that there are lots of cheering when they make plays. There are tons of Cowboys fans in each NFL market, moreso than other NFL teams.

Having an owner like Jerry Jones and numerous goofy fans makes them easier to hate. A lot like the vawls, webs and oinkers.

That goes both ways, I have attended games at Cowboys stadium and heard thousands of fans cheering for the other teams such as Green Bay, the Giants, da Bears, etc. I think that goes for almost any NFL team, maybe with the exception of the Packers because of the waiting list for tickets.

But to answer all the questions on this thread, to validate that the Cowboys are America's team, they sell more merchandise than any other NFL team. And I believe I read somewhere recently where they are the most valuable franchise at over $1 billion worth.

Look like the boys had a few fans in the stands and that was not counting the 5 or 6 they had on the field in the striped shirts. How bad must it get when the announcers are talking about it? Pitiful how bad it was sometimes during the game. I do hope that the league office actually reviews this game and actually acts upon it.
