Are you STILL crying about that?

Sheesh...Nevada won. Get over it and move on.

Now you are hoping that other players will bash him in the face? Maybe ruin a man's career? Who the hell are you? John Chaney?

Seek therapy.

Boy, that would be terrible, wouldn't it. I hate having a player that can score inside or out....what were we thinking??? Fazekas has played against some pretty good competition, so I doubt Iti will present him with a challenge that he hasn't seen before.

I'm not totally convinced Martin Iti can shut down Nick Fazekas in the paint. However, the reality is Nick's overwelming size allowed him to dominate the boards and get quite a few put back "garbage" baskets against the undersized Aggies last year.

Now, if Martin Iti can keep his 7'0" 240-pound body between Nick and the basket and make Fazekas into more of a perimeter scorer then maybe NMSU can get more of those defensive rebounds that feeds Theus' fastbeak offense (especially with 6'5" 220-pound Justin Hawkins now at the wing).

Game in and game out, Fazekas should still get his numbers however the hope is with Iti's and Passos size, speed, and athleticism to go along with Ty Nelson's impressive inside game maybe NMSU can now match Nevada's overall intensity in the paint and possibly force the Wolfpack to play the Aggies' fast paced brand of basketball.

I think you make some valid points..However, Iti's limited offensive game will not tax Fazekas on defense. This should keep Nick fresher.

I think a legitimate case could be made that NMSU will have more talent than Nevada but Nevada has more experience, particularly playing together.

The whole league looks tough to me and I am not sure there is a clear cut favorite..It should be really fun finding out who the best team is..

Why not? Give him some of his own medicine. Also Iti is going to be a lot improved player then he was his first two season's, and trust me, both Iti, and Passos will tear Nick a new one.

Julio Iglesias, what a baby! If you would have recorded it and watched the game again, you would have seen that Fazekas got a few elbows of his own and the elbows and shoving match was going on all night.....the NMSU player just got caught taking a swing. Teams said all year that you could shut Nick down by playing physical and he was on the receiving end of elbows and shoves all year....that was him giving it back for once. I've seen him play for three years...you've seen him twice.....you tell me who is in a better position to say if he is a dirty player.

Get over it.

nmsu fans think there going to run thru the WAC next yr oh and sweep the MINERS haha ya right, Miners have a 7 game win streak in BB against the lags. I believe the last yr UTEP was in the wac we split with Nevada. Fazekas is a bad dude, with him returning Nevada is going to take back that light nmsu was getting, anyhow will be interesting to see what happens.

Quote:Nick is scheduled for a press conference today and word is he is going to return to the Pack.

03-yawn That's about the least newsy news I've heard. There was practically zero chance that he was going to go pro. He wasn't going to be picked high in the draft. There was no upside of him turning pro. He did the right thing. He got some "pub" and then decided to go back to school to add to his resume.

Any Pack fan who spent sleepless nights wondering "would he" or wouldn't he" did so needlessly.

He had a better chance of going in the first round than one would realize just by reading the mock drafts. Most mock drafts kept him out of the first round or even the entire draft because 1) he said that if he didn't go in the first, he would return to Nevada (resulting him in being left off of the other rounds) and 2) his workouts were private, tight-lipped, and he didn't participate in the workouts in Florida which are guard-oriented and usually won't help a big man.

He had a great shot of going in the first round though.
