Mayo to play for the Globetrotters?
Quote:O.J. Mayo isn't talking to either recruiting service, and isn't expected to sign a national letter on Wednesday.
Ranked No. 4 by Rivals and No. 1 by Scout, the 6-4 Mayo has USC at the top of his list, while Kansas State and Cincinnati are on his short list.
"We haven't talked for a month," Telep said. "I don't think he has an interest in playing in college. I think he'll go to Europe, or play a year with the Globetrotters, and then go pro."
Meyer agrees. "He's been a celebrity for so long, and treated like a professional for so long, I think it would be hard for him to do the college thing."
A new problem
Beasley and Walker would be headed for the NBA in 2007-2008 had it not been for a new NBA age rule: to enter the NBA, an individual must be at least 19 years of age, and one year removed from his graduating class.
In other words, don't expect them to be Wildcats for long.

I don't see Mayo playing with the Globetrotters. What would it do for him? It wouldn't prepare him in any way for the NBA, and he would probably be viewed as some kind of goof to go that route. In my opinion he will either be in college or will play in Europe next year. If he goes to college there's a 50/50 chance he ends up playing for Huggins. It's still a long shot for K-State, though...
