Each year, Globe columnist Derrick Z. Jackson compiles graduation rates for all NCAA bowl teams, looking at gaps between black and white graduation rares. Here are his 2007 findings.

Big East Graduation Rate
UConn - 85%(black) 81%(white)
UC - 64%(black) 75%(white)
USF -59%(black) 73%(white)
WVU - 59%(black) 71%(white)
RU - 57%(black) 55%(white)

FYI...data used is from:

SOURCE: 2007 National Collegiate Athletic Association Graduation Rates Report, covering scholarship athletes who entered school in 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-00 and 2000-01.

The APR numbers show a much more accurate picture of current athletes progressing in achieving or on tract to receive their degrees.
