RE: Rank the BIG EAST Week 13
SF Husky Wrote:UCbball21 Wrote:SF Husky Wrote:No my logic is we played the same opponents. We are 5-2 and you are 4-3 in the BE conference. Everything else is speculation. At end of the day, it is all about wins and losses and not style points. There were plenty of garbage points today in the 2nd half cause UCONN did not even bother to show up. Spin spin spin and it won't change.
Garbage points from second and third stringers might I add. You know there is such a thing as an OOC schedule, just because Cincy laid an egg one game (Pitt) it doesn't diminish what they accomplished. Plus that was a much different team back then, we made a lot of changes including a new starting RB. I look at UConn and see a team that got blown out 2 of the last 3 weeks and won't even be receiving votes when the next polls come out. Yet you continue to argue, I'm done with your incompetence...
I am done arguing with you too. I watched the UC/Cuse game today and saw a team that let Cuse moved the ball up and down on them. Cuse couldn't do squat against UCONN. So UCONN played two bad games. We played well in the 1st half against WVU but fell apart in the 2nd.
What is annoying is some UC fans here constantly trying to bash UCONN and think our 9-3 record and our great season mean nothing other than last few games, which just happened to be against top teams in the BE. In WVU, perhaps the best team in the whole country.
Put it this way, if it was UC in Mogantown today in the path of WVU to a national championship game, I would say WVU would have blown the doors off UC too. Playing on the road vs. at home is a huge difference, especially in Morgantown.
To bad UCONN couldn't do squat against UC huh? I don't think UCONN has a better player than UC at any position(Maybe O-Line and Running Back)

UC also brings back a lot of starters and now have a season's worth of experience in Kelly's system. We will be better next season, without question.
BE standings indicate UCONN had a better conference season than UC and USF. No arguments on the whole year.
Rankings and results from the last three weeks indicate that UC and USF are clearly better teams than UCONN right now, I don't think this could be any more clear.

As long as we are talking about next year don't forget about RU. We laid a couple of nasties against WVU and Uconn, but we had a close game against Cincy. Besides we don't lose that many key players assuming Rice doesn't leave. You guys are in for a wild ride next year.

UConn had a great season and hats off to them, but UC is a better team. The Bearcats destroyed UConn in their head to head matchup.
We can analyze all the other games until we are blue in the face, and even then UC would come out on top.
I wish the Big East had better bowl games and I don't think any Big East team deserves to be sent to Birmingham. But sending UC there would be a complete joke.

RE: Rank the BIG EAST Week 13
UConn isn;t better than Cincy or USF, but is clearly much better than Rutgers. 38-19 talks...it says a lot.
UConn returns 10 starters on offense and 8 on defense. We're getting an unbelievably talented MLB (4 stars, had offers from big-time schools like Alabama, South Carolina, etc) to fill in at MLB, a Wisconsin transfer to replace our senior CB, and perhaps a true freshman with WVU, VT, Penn State, etc offers to replace our guard. We're replacing the kids we do lose with big-time talent.
We also have a Notre Dame transfer at quarterback that was a 4 star coming out of high school. I expect another big year from UConn, with the only "likely" losses comingto WVU and USF on the road. The offense has been strong ever since the Louisville comeback (except the Cincy game) and the defense will improve as well.
We're not going away.

The fight for number 2 is of little interest to Mountaineer fans.

You ought to know quite a bit about opponents moving the ball up and down on you. What with the 66 points and all. Ouch.

You're delusional if you think a win this year translates to an automatic win next year. If you were watching the Uconn Ru game you would see that RU shot itself in the foot. We had 500 yards of offense and ended up kicking about 4 feild goals from inside the 15. This year our special teams were horrendous muffing punts allowing big plays on special teams from Uconn. Do you remember RU beat you by 11 in our place. One year later we lost by 19 in yours. You could just as easily lose next year as we did this year. Having said that good luck on your bowl game and represent the BE well.

Enjoy it while you can. You gonna have a big target on your back going forward. We know how it feels because of basketball. When you lose again, it will be total meltdown mode.
BTW, these things go in cycles. You should watch out for that program in FLA that's on the rise.
