The fact is we have beaten west virginia the past two years. no other Big East team can claim that and it seems everyone wants to come up with excuses on why we beat them.

I don't have a problem with USF in the Sun Bowl if they are ranked higher than UC after today. Although UC is just as deserving.

I have a huge problem with UC getting anything less than the Meineke Bowl.

There will be a lot of angry UC fans if the Bearcats are relegated to the Pizza Bowl.

Unlike UConn, UC has more than paid their Division 1 dues. UC has been playing division 1 football much longer than UConn. UC has just had one of their best seasons ever. UC flat out does not deserve to be sent to Birmingham.

If it happens, UC should flood the Big East offices with mail, phone calls, and e-mail demanding and asking why did we get in this conference and leave CUSA if the best bowl we can go to is a game against a former CUSA team (no offense to USM, they are a worthy opponent, it's the game I have a big problem with)?

Pat White wasn't injured coming into the game he was injured during the game when USF was already winning. The year before they beat them with a healthy Pat White. I don't think anybody WVU fans included can talk crap to USF fans about those two games.

RE: How does the bowl situation change now?
Some people need to quit whining about the bowls we have and remember the situation the Big East was in at the time the bowls were negotiated. Nobody freaking wanted us. We were lucky to get what we got.

The Gator Bowl wanted to dump us and the tie-in was only saved when the Sun Bowl came up with the sharing idea because they hoped to get Notre Dame at some point. In addition, the Meineke Car Care Bowl wanted to dump us, and for one year they did. Doing the side deal with Navy last season was their revenge for Mike Tranghese trying to get the Liberty Bowl. We are very lucky that the International Bowl and Papa John's Bowl were created or we would really be screwed right now.

Nobody was Nostradamus. They could not predict the future. Mike Tranghese and all of our veteran coaches have said this league is way ahead of schedule now. People need to stop letting the sudden success get to your heads. We signed contracts and now we are stuck with them. I do not like them either but they run from 2006 through 2009. Deal with it. We are not trading bowls because there is nothing to trade. If there are any open spots, one is going to the Big Ten, the other to TCU.

We will have a Tampa Bowl in the future. That is being worked on for 2009 or 2010 at the latest. It will be a big help and it will probably not be a third ACC match-up. Until then, we have what we have, that is it.

I'm not whining about the bowls, just where we get selected. Cincinnati is now ranked in the Top 25 in every poll in America and finished 3rd in the Big East yet we're likely to go to the conference's 4th or 5th bowl in the Papa John's Bowl. That's the problem I have. What is good is winning inside and outside of the conference nationally if they're push you out of the national spotlight by pushing you out of one of their premiere bowls?

If the bowls are using rankings UC is the only other team than WVU in the Big East to be ranked in the USA Today poll and the AP poll.

This should help the chances for the Bearcats.

I think maybe some people are being premature and assuming something that very well might not even happen. All anyone knows at this time is what rumors they are hearing. No bowls have made any decisions. Cincinnati has clearly finished the season on a roll and is in a great position to land in the Sun Bowl or Meineke Car Care Bowl. Maybe people should wait until a perceived injustice is committed before erupting. The hostility and negativity are uncalled for at this point as far as I can tell.

And this is bowl selection which does not completely make their decision based on who is perceived the be better then who.
