Jeez... whats with the ASun? this hasn't happened, this isn't supposed to happen. Everyone who talks about every single team says we are low major, bottom feeders. I tend to agree but these wins against SEC and ranked teams is crazy.

Go ASun

Well KSU isn't having the start we obviously wish we had. It's always been something so far but I'm looking forward to seeing these upsets come more frequently in the future.

I know what you mean ETSUFan1, but for what it's worth Mercer was still an underdog @ Harvard. It's not a game they are expected to win. This is a GREAT win for the ASun though. Belmont is so well coached.

Congratulations to Belmont. It would appear that Alabama is having a bad week on both the gridiron and the hardcourt. What a great beginning to the season for the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Our top six teams need to keep it up. I would like to see Lipscomb get back on track and FGCU have a nice showing at South Padre

Wow! I didn't realize Belmont beat the Tide last night. I was too busy listening to Troy dismantling MTSU in football to even realize the basketball game was going on.

Congratulations to the Bruins and to the other A-Sun teams that have been making some noise this season. I hope it keeps up. I would love to see more than one A-Sun team in the NCAA's for a change!

Bama may have more raw talent than Belmont, but the Tide is the most under-coached team in the SEC. Belmont has a great coach in Rick Byrd and the Curb Events Center is a great place to watch a basketball game. I know that's not where they played last night, but it is still a great arena!

I didn't say I thought the A-Sun was on track to get more than one team into the NCAA's, I just said I would like to see it happen.

How is that getting ahead of myself?

RE: Belmont leading Alabama at the half
Bama, it's exactly what we all want. This season we've seen great signs that it could happen in the near future. Hopefully the league can build off of this success through recruiting, more television exposure (already happening of course, but we need games on TV), etc.

(The ASun has sent two teams before, so it's not something that's impossible either. All it takes is one incredible team that piles on the quality wins and then blows the conference tourney).

Bama, let's not get ahead of ourselves

There was one year when two A-Sun/TAAC teams were in the NCAAs (UCF and the College of Charleston) during the mid-1990s. I'd be thrilled to see two A-Sun teams in the NCAAs again.

If the A-Sun keeps on registering upsets, I believe this league could eventually get to where the Missouri Valley is now. It'll take more than one season of upsets to make it happen, but it CAN happen.
