Verbal Commit for Mens Bball!!!
Ronnie Moss from Genesis One High School in Ms. Did not know if you guys knew this he is a 6'2 180lb PG is a 3 star recruit on rivals, on an Oklahoma message board they said they really wanted him. hopefully he can come and contribute right away.

Quick question do you think next year JC will try to slow everything down and have gabe and BP play full-time next year or do you think both are a lost cause and just taking scholarships away from someone else03-puke

As PH says, I believe he signed at 2 p.m. on signing day at his school. Easily the #1 freshman signed to a MAC school in several years. Great get. This was a kid being recruited hard by several Big 12 schools last year before he went to prep school.

Yeah we should be set at PG the next 5 years, now if we could only get a 3* center to come our way. Great sign for the Flashes, I'm sure JC will continue to find talent to put around him, so things will continue to look up with the b-ball program.

Moss is rather shaky academically, so don't get TOO excited just yet.

KentDelt this thing with Parks and Gabe is still a mystery to me , specially Gabe ,why would you give a junior college player a full ride to hold a towel on the bench ? and Parks ,i dont get it , i would assume someone in kent saw them play and determined they could compete in the MAC or maybe not...maybe JC got some secret plan we dont know about...lets hope...this will still be a great team without them ,but a few more guards/forwards would be nice specially since that is the type of player JC likes....KNIGHT in 10 minutes 4 rebounds 2 blocks its a shame he may not be able to get more then 10 minutes....

The Parks/Garcia thing is actually pretty simple. Right now we have 4 players playing 2 positions (Q, Scott, Sully, Knight). All 4 are more than capable of being the man at any given time. Q and Scott graduate this year so Parks and or Garcia will get time next year. JC had an extra scholarship and he knew he had enough guards/wings so why not take a risk on a 7 footer knowing if it works out great if not he's only with us for 2 years.

Bingo,
I have not understood the posters questioning JC on this. I would only say that I would like to see the 2 bigs get some reward for being practice players. Most coaches in the country would take a chance on any 7 footer that could walk and chew gum at the same time. If JC is wasting the scholarship he has a specific need, I could understand the question. Have you noticed that this team loses nothing by substituting. That means the bench has talent also.

Your logic is good only if they play next year. Why not take a risk with somebody 6'8" who can dribble and then shoot at the same time. Walking and chewing gum doesn't win many basketball games. Q, Scott, Sullinger and Knight are good but Sullinger due to his height and Knight due to his scoring could be improved upon. Taking a chance with Parks a four year player I can accept. I can't accept taking a chance with Garcia a 2 year player.

RE: Verbal Commit for Mens Bball!!!
6'8 players who are athletic and can shoot don't end up at MAC schools. Hate to admit it but they end up in the Big 10, A10, or elsewhere. When you're fully loaded whats the harm with taking a 2 year chance with a 7 footer?

I'm more concerned about the lack of younger players in the program. With Dimaria redshirting we will have no one in this freshmen class from the beginning. I would like the recruiting to be split 50-50 between 4 yr players and 2 yr guys.

I remenber having this subject last season, there are some big man in the MAC that are verry good ,im sure Leon willians could play at kent and or Mark Larson from BG or how about Chris Kellerman from Central M. all very tall and can score , i think is a matter of what a coach is looking for, there is a reason that all the players are tweners g/f , is what you need to win the MAC. and winning the MAC Kent will until the cows come home ,i know i wont be popular for saying this ,but to get to final 4 you need big folks i think we can all agree with that ... with some luck in the brackets this could be a sweet 16 team..03-cloud9

In reference to big front court guys we missed, it appears that Shane Ross has been dismissed fom the Toledo team. Too bad, he has loads of talent.
