Question fo Nevada fans
Noticed while watching the Hawaii Bowl that some of your helmets have a stripe down the middle, but most don't...what gives?

the stripe....
the stripe (a silver stripe award, known as the silver stiker award) is given to players that excel thoughout the year (hitting hard, making plays, etc). It's much like the buckeye stickers at OSU or the tomahawk stickers at FSU...only ours is known by nobody outside of Nevada ; )

The stripe, also called the striker award, is given to a player who dominates the opponent for 3 consecutive games as determined by their position coach. It's a unique award given out by Ault over his career and isn't taken lightly. If you have one bad game or average game after 2 good ones, you start over on the counter.

You'll also see the word STRIKER on the front of the helmet where Pack usually is.

So if the player has a poor game, will the stripe be removed for the next game? Or is it on the helmet the entire year?

I like it.
