Thoughts of Better Days for Syracuse
I was just thinking of what a nice parting gift Syracuse gave to Boston College on their way out the door in 2004. A 43-17 beat down to keep them out of the BCS series. Most probably view the WVU-Georgia Sugar bowl as the biggest win for the new Big East but that one was pretty sweet too. A BC win there would have been another thorn in our side.

Here's hoping that Syracuse will join the fight for the conference title soon. We need that program to resurface.

I remember watching that game. It was a good game for the BIG EAST and Syracuse.

It would have been tough to live with if BC fans had that ammunition to add to their constant berating of the BE. That minority of BC fans who insist on belittling the BE sure are an irritant. I'm sure that have an equal amount of irritating BE fans.

I would like to hope that the worst of the troublemakers on both sides would let go so a few bridges can be mended. I for one probably will never root for BC but they were a great series at one time and would like to resume the series down the road at some time. For some teams that matchup would be WAY in the future.

I've been talking about that six-game series for a while now, and while I hate BC, I love them as rivals and look forward to resuming the yearly brawl. I expect this series to continue beyond the six-year contract and become a yearly tradition.

Since WVU blew it's BCS shot in 2004 by losing to BC and Pitt to end the regular season the Syracuse blow out of BC was a really nice consolation prize. Here's hoping that the Orange get things turned around really soon. We had the Frank Cignetti era (between Bobby Bowden and Don Nehlen) and survived. I am sure that SU will bounce back from the Greg Robinson debacle. There's just too much tradition there. It could be worse. You could be Notre Dame.

You know thats true.
But you know I think our biggest trouble started at Rutgers when we lost our OT.
That was our THIRD starting linemen out. So since that happened we have had to move guys around to cover for center, guard and tackle. We just dont have the depth to hide that.

i think losing taurus johnson, hurt more, he's basically our only true playmaker other than grothe on offense. although i will say losing walker did huge damage to our run blocking.

No. The salvation for fans of the Orange is the fact that it's almost basketball season. They can forget about the football team's futility, and ignore further humiliation at the basketball games.
