La Tech has said, emphatically, they are staying in the WAC. Taking that as a fact, the team added has to come from the Eastern group of Texas or La schools. The western schools aren't going to fly to La Tech for a Thursday game and back to Boise for a Sat game. That's really costly!! La Tech will have a traveling partner so when the West teams come East they play in Dallas/ Denton Thursday and La Tech on Sat. The same thing for minor sports teams at each school. The question is whether it is UNT or La-Lafayette(sp?), Rajun Cajun's, that's the only question now!!!!! UNT is better in football, ULL is better in basketball----That's the choice the WAC is making if they don't expand to 12 teams!!!!

Put UNT in the NO column.

The only way UNT considers the WAC is:
12 school conference with a 6 team eastern division with teams that are regional to UNT and a regional bowl.

I don't see UNT leaving the Sun Belt.

why is Wisconsin not one of the options?

if the badgers were in the WAC, they might actually, oh, i don't know, WIN A FRICKIN' CONFERENCE TITLE!!!

sorry. a little venting there.

i think montana's the best choice considering rabid fan base, real intermountain west location, solid facilities, winning tradition and new market/state.

idaho second if they turn things around both competitively and fiscally.

denver third cuz of market size, colorado presence and HOCKEY, baybee....

Nickdanger, the guy who posted all these polls, is a Denver fan. He's probably seeking assurance that his school may go to the WAC based on the approval of fans on this messageboard.

We Know that. I think Denver fans are concerned about where they will end up since the Sun Belt is pushing them gently out of the door!

Denver should join a non-football league! What league is Southern Utah State in?

Southern Utah is in the Mid Con but they are talking about joining the "new" Big West which will sponsor 1AA football so that UC Davis, Sac State, Pacific (rumored to be back in) and possibly Cal-Northridge can have a place in the conference to play football. They are also talking about adding UVSC in Provo.

Denver is a great fit for the WAC! Can't wait to play those Hockey games!

The Mid-Continental Conference looks like a good place for Denver to land.

I think the "new big west" is a long way off. The current big west schools are anti-football except for Cal Poly SLO and Davis. Most schools in the big west really like to have away games close enough to take the bus.

Didn't Cal State Northridge drop it's football program several years ago? I thought that was the reason why Tyrone Tutogi was allowed to transfer without penalty to Boise State from CS Northridge, i.e., that they dropped their football program. :saber:

Yep....Cal State Northridge joined Pacific, Long Beach, Fullerton as BWC schools that have dropped football.

And don't forget L.A. State and Santa Babs, who dropped it as well.
