RE: WVU is sitting pretty right now.
The football championship is a joke.
The Big 10 is against a playoff because Ohio State and Michigan is guaranteed to start each your ranked high. They play a bunch of nobodies in a creampuff conference (Yea, Penn State is a joke also) and they have a clear path to the title game. The Big 10 is against a playoff system because they ride the same gravy train every year and once in a while they get exposed (EX; Florida beating the daylights out of Ohio State when Big 10 Fans were saying OSU was #1 and Mich was #2 and should play each other AGAIN for the title.) Yea, right. Neither should have been there.
HEre we are again this year. The joke from the Big 10 is sitting on top of the polls. The Big 10 threatened to leave the BCS if the BCS even went to a plus-one game.
So we have another year of the BIG 10 riding the gravy train all the way to the bank.
This really sucks.

There are still tough games ahead, so it's too soon to predict what will happen. I think WVU will win out, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if we lose a game.

IF we win out, then the odds of us reaching the title game seem pretty slim. But, again, had we pulled out the win against the Bulls, it wouldn't be an issue.

The biggest thing is for the BE to take care of business in the bowl games again. We don't have to go 5-0 (or 6-0), but we need a winning record overall, and another BCS bowl win would be sweet indeed.

You are right on the mark; however, this whole BCS thing is a crock of sheitza.

It's flawed, for sure... mostly because of its reliance on the idiotic polls...but it's the best solution for the time being.

One of these days maybe we'll see a playoff, but I don't really see it as being feasible any time soon.

The media is starting to call for a playoff. It's obvious that the system is so screwed up that there is no way to tell who the best team is. A playoff is the only answer. The only question remains is how long will it be before those committed to the bowl system realize that nobody wants them anymore?
