UCONN won the statement game. Of course, media will spin it tomorrow because UCONN got lucky, ref helped, UCONN cheated or we won because of the weather. Next week's game against Cincy should be between two ranked teams or two under appreciated teams.

I told the non-UConn friends that Connecticut was good and they would have been very good the last few years if not for health! I'm hoping UC finds a way to slip into the BCS Top 25, even if it's #25. I have tickets to the UC/UConn game and I want it to be between two Top 25 teams! 04-cheers It's amazing that people are still complaining that UConn is "lucky" or "cheating" or stuff like that. You win the games you're supposed to win, and they're winning those games. They even have a Top 25 win and their only loss is to a Top 25 team. Connecticut is the real deal, that's why I have them #1. The Big East is an elite conference and UConn is undefeated and in first place in the conference, and that speaks volumes.

Thats CatClaw. You are one of the few fans who actually gave UCONN some credit. If not for that 1 point loss to UVA, we could be undefeated. Let's hope next week's game between our two teams will be a good one. It should be fun. That Cincy D is still nasty. That kid Nakamura caused 3 turnovers by himself today. Does he have a chance to play in the NFL even at 5'10" and 190 lbs? Man he made USF pay today.

I think Nakamura will at least get a shot in the league. He may be a career special teams player, but he will get a shot at playing safety. I know if I was a KO or Punt returner I wouldn't want him to hit me when he is coming at full speed. For his size it is amazing that he hits like a 250 lb linebacker. We wil miss his presence on defense next year.

Husky - Where are you hearing all these negatives about Connecticut? I certainly don't see much negative spin on this board. In fact, I've seen plenty of kudos. Of course, it will take time for some people to come around when a team makes a sharp turn around like is the case with UConn. You are going to have skeptics. Other teams like Kansas have their doubters too. The Rutgers bandwagon didn't get rolling last year until later in the season.

UConn will get the respect they deserve from BE fans based on how they perform over the next 3 games. IF you run the table nobody is going to find them unworthy. I would bet that many in the national media will make you an interesting story in the BCS too. Of course you are always going to get those BE haters.

Larue - fans on this board have been great. I have no issues here. It is on the other SCOUT and RIVALS boards. UCONN fans have to deal with these naysayers coming over to our board weekly. 03-banghead03-banghead

Anyway, I have been saying we got a good team from day 1 and in some crazy ways I am glad I am right. UCONN does not play flashy, but they don't turn the ball over and just play good football. I am not sure we will run the table since both Cincy and WVU are very losable games. Even CUSE can give us problems if we have a huge let down.

Cincy/UCONN should tell a lot. Wouldn't it be nice for the BE if UCONN/WVU could be the game that settle the BCS berth? I still hope BE gets 2 BCS bids but I am not sure if UCONN can get in if we lose to WVU.

SF, all I know is that I'd love to have a back like Donald Brown on the bench. Talk about a luxury 04-bow Glad we got you at Nippert. Here's to another great game 04-cheers

I think what I like about him is he plays really tough and he literally ripped the ball out of couple of players' hands. Man the kid can hit. For someone only 190 lbs, he literally hits like a 250 lbs LB and he always seem to be around the ball somehow. Anyway, I am sure Grothe will have nightmares about him for a few days. I hope UCONN players better hold on to the ball if he is nearby.

Cincy D is still tough. It should be a good game. If Cincy can stop UCONN run offense, it could be a tough game. UCONN's OL is way underrated and they have been punishing opposing teams so far. Our two headed RBs will also give Cincy some problems.

I don't visit those boards too much. It is too difficult to weed out the smack talk from the honest discussion. Smack doesn't do much for me. This board is much better with the only annoying discussions being the endless expansion blather. I think they should move those discussions over to the BE smack board. They all seem to end up that way.

It is looking very likely that the WVU/UConn game could be for all the marbles. It probably will be for UConn even if they lose to Cinci. Of course, if UConn were to beat Cinci and WVU loses to Louisville or Cinci the fat lady might already be warming up. (assuming UConn doesn't pull a Boston College against Syracuse).

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
Remember that the Scout and Rivals boards are all team-specific, so fans don't feel they have to be politically correct when amongst their own school's fans.

This is an all-Big East board, so we're much more well-behaved here. 04-cheers
