per ESPN.com...
Louisiana Tech football coach Jack Bicknell III, whose team won the Western Athletic Conference championship, will get a two-year contract extension and a raise.
Bicknell had three years remaining on a five-year contract that paid $175,000 a year. In addition to the extension, Bicknell will get an annual raise of $25,000, the school said.
Bicknell led Tech to a 7-5 record and a spot in the Humanitarian Bowl the Bulldogs' first year in the WAC. The bowl game, which Tech lost 49-24 to Clemson, was the school's first since the 1990 Independence Bowl.
"This is the place I want to be and I really like it here," Bicknell said.
Under the revised contract, Bicknell will receive a salary of $150,000 annually, plus $50,000 per year for a weekly television show.
The Louisiana University System Board will have to approve the contract.
Bicknell succeeded Gary Crowton as head coach in 1999 after serving as Crowton's offensive line coach.

Coach Bicknell definately deserves and extention and a raise. He did a great job with the team last year and I am sure he will do much of the same this year. I am looking forward to see how the team will do this year and who will step up and take the place of Simon and Daige (sp?).
Hope this team can defend their WAC championship next season.
