USF just got away with obvious pass interference. Only up 19-9.

19-12. USF's kicker finally booted one right there. UConn leads with 12 1/2 minutes to go and has the ball.

Another potential game changing call. That could have been a fumble. Watched on my DVR and that was clearly a fumble that was called an incomplete pass.

People better not give any more crap about UCONN getting breaks cause there are 2 clear ones USF were on the benefit end of it so far.

And a phantom holding penality at the 2 yard line on South Florida certainly helps the UCONN cause.

Phantom? The guy tackled our DL and you called it phantom? What defines a holding call?

C'mon let's go UCONN and drive down USF's throat.

I used to read The Phantom. He always won in the end. 02-13-banana

Whether or not UConn wins is a matter for conjecture at the moment. They've got a 7 point lead with under 5 minutes to go. We'll see shortly.

good game uconn, you all aren't ranked number 23 for nothing. that's a tough gritty team. the parity in the big east is very good and that bodes well for the future. please run the table you're our best shot at two bcs bids!!!

Great game USF. It was a tough tough game. Grothe is one tough QB. Man I was wondering how to stop that guy when he keep making play after play with his feet.

UCONN D came through in the end by not giving up couple of TDs. Game ball goes to Andre Dixon, the kid is not huge but he is a total stud RB. He got over 200 yards on this tough USF D.

heck yeah i would give it to dixon that guy was nails, seems it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell how to beat us just run it up the gut. normally i would say it's a bit iffy to storm the field on a team that was only favored by 4, but it was such a great finish and uconn's first win over a ranked team that i think it was more than appropriate. great game huskies!

We better hope so because all we'll have left is a two loss team and a one loss team. Our two one loss teams WVU and UCONN, still have to play each other. That last game of the season could be for the BCS bid. But I doubt it. Something goofy will probably happen long then- it's just that type of year.

Dawg UCONN. What happened in Virginia?

P.S. I think USF will still finish #2 in the BE.

If you watched that game, you probably came away that UCONN is a better team than UVA. UCONN was driving in the final secs against UVA. Two stupid fumble snaps cost us the game. We were moving the ball at will against that supposedly good UVA D. Love to play those guys again and where what happens.

We don't win pretty, but we are a good team. Our D is solid and O is more than capable. Our OL held that tough USF DL and opened holes for our RBs. It was a tough game but we delivered even when refs made couple of bad calls against us.

UConn has a good D. A good D will keep you in a lot of games. As long as a team stays close, they can win. UConn has been winning. Some wins were pretty ugly. But they don't give you points for style, just wins.

RE: UCONN/USF Game Thread
Thanks for the congrats. I have been saying since the beginning we got a good team and even most nice folks here don't believe. What a difference a good QB can make. Tyler is a good QB who manages the game well. Imagine if we have a good deep threat WR.

Anyway, there are no easy games left so every game is important. We still have to beat RU and CUSE at home plus Cincy and WVU away. We won't win the WVU game but other 3 are possible.

RE: UCONN/USF Game Thread
it was a good game, but i just can't believe with 2nd and 2 we couldn't punch it in. losing mike ford (went to the hospital after the game with rib injuries) hurt bad. if anything i wish we spread it out and give the ball to grothe, just don't give it to a 4th string rb who has no carries on the season in that dumb wishbone formation.
