Thats what folks were saying last year. But we really dont have anything to gauge whether or not OSU's defense is for real. I dont think so.
But on the other hand, BC seems to be for real. I was hoping that they would lose to VT but it was not to be. I rooted for the lesser of 2 evils.

At this point the title tit title game is between the two best teams from the two weakest BCS conferences. For years Miami as accused of cakewalking to the title game and now the BE is looking at this from the other side.
Neither team was worth a top 10 ranking tonight.
There is no way either team can play with USF or WVU. I think UCONN has a good chance against both of those teams. How can BCU be #2 in the country? Playing in a weak conference like the ACC really help inflate their record. They were talking about Wake being a good team.
Wake got beat by a horrible Nebraska team at home and they call that a good team?
I think UConn, WVU, USF, and RU beat BC handily. VaTech probably loses to RU, WVU because we have much better, more versatile offenses. UConn could go either way. I don't like that matchup with USF but I think Leavitt is a better coach with more offensive speed so it could go either way there too.

I've seen their defense its very good. But let me see them go up against an offense like WVU. I think Rich Rod just goes all in all day and pummels them.

Maryland with a QB off the bench shredded you. What makes you think BC with Matt Ryan wouldn't do the same?

There is no way that Rutgers or UConn would beat BC handily, let alone beat them at all.

At least you are smart enough to not mention USF or WVU. We all know how the best of the ACC has fair against the BIG EAST the past couple of years.
BIG EAST > ACC.

I didn't mention those two because I wouldn't feel that great about BC's chances of defeating them.

You're out of your mind. I've watched BC all season and I've seen our defense finally step it up to their real level. We'd be blitzing the hell out of Ryan all day and we'd rack up some sacks. BC also has the inferior running game and doesn't have the defensive horses to match up with our running game or our receivers. UConn has a very good defense and I think also shuts Ryan down. VT shut him down all night until their idiot DC decides they should stop blitzing and go into prevent. A qb like Ryan has to be blitzed for 60 straight minutes unless you manage to open a 3 score lead with like 3 minutes left.

I hate BC as much as most of you guys on this board, but they do deserve some credit for putting together a good season for themselves so far.
That being said, VT had their foot on BC's throats last night and let them off the hook. A fortuitous bounce on the onside kick didn't hurt, either.

RE: BC
BC had to come from behind in the 4th quarter to beat a team that LSU drilled. That's not exactly saying much.

First of all, Maryland's back-up is actually the better QB, and Steffy only got the nod due to experience.
Second of all, Maryland did not "shred" Rutgers, they won on costly turnovers late in the fourth quarter.
Third of all, Rutgers was dealing with injuries and figuring out some personnel issues, which is now done.
Maryland better pray there is no rematch in the Meineke Car Care Bowl and BC better just pray - period.
Let them choke down the stretch and watch as the ACC gives them a lovely consolation trip - to Boise.

RE: BC
Frankly, and I have to say it, I think the sports gods have been kind to the BE. We've gotten our share of breaks. And of course, these same gods hate the ACC and tricked them into losing their BB clout while exposing their inept FB teams.
The best two teams in the ACC played last night- BC and VT. BC got snubbed by the ACC on the first vote to expand and VT had to file a lawsuit in order to get an invite. Now they are rolling the conference.
I think BC makes the championship game. I also think OSU falls to Michigan- because the gods are cruel (if they don't like you.) That leaves LSU to play BC for the title. The same LSU that beat VT 48-7. The loss by VT knocked them out of contention as a possible second BCS team from the ACC. The only BCS game the ACC may get is BC against LSU. If that happens, it's gonna be murder.

I really like Boston College, and I hope they make it to the title game...it would be a great story for college football
That said, I really don't think they're going to make it...VT's offense is terrible, and if you give Matt Ryan enough chances, he's eventually going to take advantage...
If VT had any semblence of a passing attack, they would have at least scored another TD and iced the game...Sean Glennon is probably a nice kid, but just not very skilled at the collegiate level
A more balanced team is going to cause problems for BC

I like BC's chances at beating West Virginia and South Florida better than beating Rutgers lol
At least BC could outscore those teams...Rutgers is too balanced for BC, and Matt Ryan can't score when he's on the sidelines and Ray Rice is running over defenders
What's the love affair with USF on this board? or West Virginia for that matter?
Rutgers beat USF, we'll see how they handle West Virginia this weekend

I think that BC should be banned from all conference tournaments and NCAA tournaments unti they return to the Big East.
