RE: Temple taking flight
The way Conn is playing today, you might have to bump Temple up some.

FYI...ECU doesn't need an expanded stadium to join the Big East.

ECU's stadium is relatively the same size as UL and Rutgers...and is larger than UCONN's and Cinci's.

ECU's stadium is fine as is.

unbelieveable, good thing that security guard was standing there to block instant replay.

I am still very sceptical on Temple but I really hope Temple can succeed and return to a level in football that would make them a viable Big East expansion candid. I feel Temple is in the natural Big East footprint. With all this said I would expect the same commit from Temple that UConn has made. Also, I would like to see UMass do the same. 04-cheers

Well, the State of CT built UCONN a free 40,000 seat stadium.

What will the states of PA and MASS do for Temple and UMASS?

Many other schools out there...do not need much help from the state.

Sounds like you missed earlier discussions.

Temple doesn't NEED a huge 67,000 seat stadium...that's why the Linc feels more like a library on game day.

Recent discussions on this board have been about Temple trying to get a stadium in the 30,000-40,000 seat range built on their side of town.

The interesting thing about Temple is if it had not been for shoddy officiating in the UCONN game, Tempe would have a win over the "best" team in the Big East this year.

The interesting thing about Temple is if it had not been for shoddy officiating in the UCONN game, Temple would have been up 24-22 with 40 seconds to go and UConn would have had a chance to win the game.

I'm a Temple alum and darn proud that the Owls hung with and actually should have had the lead on UConn with 40 seconds to go in that game, but there is nothing to guarantee that UConn wouldn't have moved up the field and kicked a FG to win the game.

Just thought that you'd like to know that that team that everyone's suddenly tenting their pants over is now 3-6 and in fifth place in the MAC East division.

Last I checked they looked competitive for the first time in years and are headed in the right direction. I'd also like to have them back on the schedule every year.

This year's MAC is the weakest it's been in years. Only three out of 13 teams are over .500 and they're all 5-4. Even Buffalo is winning games in the MAC this year. Yet even in this extremely mediocre MAC Temple can only manage 3-6 and fifth place in its division.

The Big East decided to kick them out after they compiled a 4-7 record, but suddenly three wins in the MAC is worth getting excited about?

I don't think any is seriously advocating bringing in Temple now. But who's to say what can happen in the next few seasons?

1. We are taking a wait and see attitude over Temple. Like Brista said they are looking competitive for the 1st time in years.

2. They are a old BIG EAST team and if we ever split they would be the ONLY school from the MAC that we would consider.

ESPN did a frame by frame analysis of that "catch" and concluded the Temple WR was juggling the ball while going out of the bound. They got the TV angle where they had a clear shot of WR's hands. There is NO WAY that was a catch. I wish people would drop that story. If they won't, I like to see Temple try to play UCONN again and settle it on the field.

I got no promblem with out come of the Conn-Temple game, I'm only responding to Temple bashing. It just seems odd to me while Temple getting bashed, Conn atop the BE. Good luck, love to see Conn in BCS bowl
