Is this pretty much what we are looking at in the way of a Depth Chart for Boise State this fall?

Too bad about Donny Heck. He will miss his senior season and any chance of a pro career.

Yes, it is too bad about Donny. But as he himself admitted, he has only himself to blame. Hopefully some others will benefit in the future as a result of what happened to him. Hopefully.

P.S. I think the player that Boise State will miss much more than Donny Heck (for similar reasons) is Brad Allen. That little guy (5' 7" tall) was a pure stud out there last year. I can still see that play he made against Hawaii when they tried to run a fake on 4th down and he appeared to just fly out of nowhere to tackle the ball carrier for Hawaii for a loss on an awesome open field tackle when it looked initially like the Hawaii ball carrier could/would run forever. Too bad that he and Heck and Tony McPherson ALL didn't pay more attention to their studies. All three of them could have been major contributors for Boise State this fall. Oh well!! 04-drinky

We always seem to lose a few players every year to grades.

Luckily, other schools also lose players. Some players have great work ethics for football, but they cannot carry them over to the classroom.

Yeah, the Broncos lost Jason Wardlow last season to academics and he was being touted as an All-W.A.C. player after what people saw of him in spring ball in 2003. But Boise State survived just fine without him I believe. There will always be those who fall by the wayside because they don't get it done in the classroom. Such is life!! :bang:

P.S. Does anyone see anything on this Depth Chart (above) that needs to be corrected?

How much experience does Sanford have at QB? Is he the one that played when Dinwiddie was hurt?

BJ Rhode was the qb that played while Ryan recovered from the broken ankle. Sanford is a fifth year senior with very little game experience.

I don't know if I would say that Sanford has "very little game experience". He played in 8 of the 13 regular season games last year. He also had a QB efficiency rating of 141.32, as compared to Jared Zabransky's QB efficiency rating of 119.22 and Ryan Dinwiddie's QB efficiency rating of 165.37.

Admittedly he had very few pass attempts last season. Whenever he did get into the game it was strictly in a mop-up role where he primarily handed off the ball to running backs (as did Zabransky for the most part). Sanford had only 13 pass attempts last season, but because of a number of blow out wins he did see lots of playing time last season.

OK, a number of changes were made to the roster found on BroncoSports.com so this is the REVISED depth chart, as opposed to the depth chart in the first message in this thread. Note the changes in weights (and heights?) for some of the players as well as the abscence of a few players too:

BOISE STATE -- 2004 Depth Chart
