The Blue and Orange game at Boise State was characterized by big play after big play after big play, from all three squads (offense, defense and special teams).

There's an excellent story on it in today's Idaho Statesman newspaper:

<a href='http://www.idahostatesman.com/Sports/story.asp?ID=65548' target='_blank'>Idaho Statesman story on Boise State spring game</a>

The guys who I thought "shined" last night were:

Colt Brooks (he's a WALK-ON and they have hiim now listed as the # 1 SAM linebacker). He made a beautiful play and intercepted a pass and returned in 62 yards for a touchdown.

Ashlie Nyong-Dunham - He led the entire team in tackles last night and he saw lots of playing team on the 1st team defense and nearly all of the special team squads. He's a "keeper".

Jeff Carpenter - LOOOOOOOOOOOOOKIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD at tailback

Lee Marks - LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKIN EVEN BETTER at tailback

Brad Lau - LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKIN SCARY (in a good way) at tailback

Calvin McCarty - LOOOOOOOOOOOOKIN GREAT at tailback

Mike Sanford & Jared Zabransky - Both looked excellent at QB. Both completed 9 passes. Both had QB efficiency ratings over 210 points. Both had one TD pass and neither threw an INT. Of course Sanford's TD pass was a 60 plus yarder on a deep sideline route, and Zabransky's was only a 3 yard pass to a wide open running back in the flat.

Legedu Naanee - HAS to be switched to another position. Great athlete. Great build. Lousy at QB. PLEASE switch him to flanker or tight end or Safety.

Plus we had about 7500 fans in the stands. We also had about 60 to 70 at the tailgate. Great time had by all and a standing ovation for the team at the end of the scrimmage.

That was one happy crowd. There is a ton of optomisim this year at Boise State. The players are bigger, stronger, and faster than any other Bronco team in history. The only question is qb and it looks like we have a couple of studs ready to step up.
