BYU and UTAH control the MWC. You didn’t get in because they didn’t want you. They don’t want to get it handed to them by BOISE and they left many of you guys behind once before. Are you stupid enough to give them another try? OK, prostitute yourselves to the MT. Worst or dominate the WAC.
The boys that left the WAC were the dorks of the league anyway. Boise, Fresno, Hawaii, and Nevada have done all the damage in the resent years. You are the WAC. You have added two schools that can be very competitive with you because they will be able to recruit with you now. Show some loyalty. At least fake it.

If Utah State was invited to the Mountain West tomorrow, do you honestly think the majority of the supporters would say, thanks but no thanks?
That's absolutely disingenuous. As for loyalty, I don't think that's a stone any Utah State fan can throw considering what happened between USU/NMSU/Sun Belt. Your school did what was best for your school and no one in their right mind can fault an administration for doing that.
If BSU, Nevada, UH, or anyone from the WAC got invited to the Mountain West, it would be considered a step up. Otherwise, it wouldn't be so coveted.
I think the WAC is a decent conference with schools full of potential and a good amount of history. Regardless of that fact, the schools still yearn to be in the Mountain West. It's just the way it is.
The teams that were left behind in the WAC were done so for many reasons. The 16 expansion was the most insane move ever, but then again hindsight it 20/20. The idea of the West Coast super conference has come and gone.
The Mountain West has 2 main goals, both of which are football oriented. To get an true shot at a BCS bowl and to get that contract for a championship game. They will take the 3 WAC schools that will help them to acheive that goal and all things (politics, location, alumni support, stadium capacity, attendance, academic, sponsorship... the list goes on) will be factored into that equation.
