RE: Rank the BE

RE: Rank the BE
1. USF
2. WVU
3. UC, UofL, Rutgers - these 3 are just about even and the games go to the one that makes the least mistakes.
4. UCONN
7. Pittsburgh
8. Syracuse

RE: Rank the BE
Why do we keep creating new "Rank The BE" threads every week instead of just going back and continuing the old one? It would actually be nice to be able to look back and see how everyone's rankings evolved over the course of the season.
1) South Florida
2/3) West Virginia / Cincinnati
4) Rutgers
5/6) Connecticut / Louisville
7) Syracuse
8/9) Pittsburgh / Pittsburgh
That was a joke at the expense of the Panthers. Dave Wannstedt should have his team in position to contend with the top of the league right now but, instead, he has them in position to lose games to Michigan State and Navy. I am annoyed.

I like the away teams in every one of those games plus WVU against Mississippi State.
I agree, Maize. The away teams win the conference game, and the home team wins OOC.
CatsClaw Wrote:The USF/Rutgers game should be interesting, but Louisville is going to have major trouble with Connecticut. Connecticut is a strong, physical team that has a solid defense and can move the ball. Also, Louisville is bound for a letdown and Connecticut is coming off a loss and they still consider Louisville a big game.
CC, I think USF will have more trouble with Rutgers than Louisville will have with UConn. USF and UofL will both win.
Louisville has the talent to play with anyone this year but our coaches are good at losing games! So we shall see what happens!
That's what worries me. Connecticut is much better the NC State, so I couldn't use that game as a comparison. I just think UConn's style will give Louisville issues. If Louisville had a coach who was making quality adjustments there's not doubt that Louisville would win that game, simply because Louisville would probably be playing better defense. But Louisville played their game of their lives (for this season) against UC and it still took UC making mistakes for Louisville to seal the deal. That tells me that it's coaching because it definitely isn't talent.
I think Louisville's losing streak had more to do with the loss to Kentucky than anything else. UofL lost more than the game. They lost their swagger, and their heart. The defensive weaknesses could have been overcome, but once the avalanche started there was no stopping the slide until rock bottom was reached. I think they'll be far more competitive over the remainder of the season than they were for the last 3 weekends.
We'll find out as the season progresses. But I think UofL has managed to halt the slide in time to still earn a bowl bid. They can forget the BCS this year. But that's a minor detail at present.

Granted it will be absurdly difficult to get to the BCS, but UL still controls their destiny at this time.
The players haven't given up on the BCS yet and neither have I :D

UofL can forget the BCS. This year, no BCS worthy team will lose to Syracuse. That rules out Louisville.

RE: Rank the BE
1. USF- (They have tough games coming up, and if they win, should asure them of a NC game spot.)
2. WVU- (Ditto for WVU, except not the NC game, but rather a BCS game.)
3. Cincy- (They lost a game they should have one against a team that should be winning but itsn't. Where does that leave them?)
4. Rutgers- (I'm still ranking then off of potential and memories.)
5. UConn- (The lose to UVa isn't that bad considering they are leading the ACC.)
6. The Ville- (barely..... I know reality will sink back in next weekend.)
7. Pitt- (The team might not be that bad, but the coaching from the Navy game lands them here.)
8. Cuse- (How in the HECK did you beath The Ville?)

That's a good point. The Kentucky game may have psychologically screwed them up. We'll see if the Cincinnati win gets them back on track.
