UConn touchdown. UVA sucks in the third quarter and it showed there. UVA has maybe the best offensive line we'll see-but our defense is playing well.

14-13 UVA.

I don't agree with that, Virginia has a solid team, much better then I thought. I said they weren't that good, I was obviously wrong. Connecticut is good to, but they're also young. Hopefully the Huskies can gut out a win here.

Our D gets a sack, and we get the ball at our 26. We HAVE to step it up and score here.

The momentum seems to be on UConn's side now as the defense forced Virginia into a six-and-out after the touchdown. The Huskies have decent field position from their own 26-yard line for this drive.

17-16 Virginia with about 2:40 left in the game but UConn has a first down just outside the UConn 40 yard line.

UConn just self-destructed under pressure.

I am shocked. How can Lorenzen fumble right there? Virginia recovers on UConn's 25 yard line with just over two minutes remaining. It will take a miracle for the Huskies to hold them to a field goal and still have a shot at the win now.

Nope. Couldn't win. We should have won by 30 and failed to win at all.

RE: Connecticut-Virginia Game Thread
That was definitely a winnable game. Tyler Lorenzen being nowhere near his normal self and Donald Brown not in action made it a long day for the Huskies. Coach Edsall and the staff called for too many passes in the wrong situations, in my opinion, and should have worked harder to establish the run. Way too much pressure was put on the passing game to come through and the offense just was not up to that task today. It sucks because this would have been a nice victory to have.

It seems that us doubters were correct in our assumption. It's a pity too. BEast teams should not be losing to ACC teams. It's just not right.

Tough loss for us - we fought 'em tooth & nail, but that botched snap killed us on the last drive. Hopefully it will be a learning game for this team to deal with playing in hostile environments.

uconnbaseball - you're crazy if you seriously think we should have gone into Virginia and won by 30. Gimme a break.

Ah well - gotta get ready for the 'Ville.

No. UConn shouldn't have won by 30. A 1 point win would have sufficed. But it was not to be.

Maybe not thirty, but we only scored 6 points inside their five. A team needs to score at least 17 in that situation. Couple at with Brouse running wide open for a sure touchdown in the second half and Lorenzen missing him...UConn could have won comfortably.

Tough loss. Our center in the end gave two bad snaps that coughed up the ball for UCONN and ended our drive. It was too bad and I felt UCONN was the stronger team the whole game. UVA as a good team but UCONN came away only 6 points inside UVA's 5 yards line. Anyway, good lesson learned and we will be ready for the Ville. With their two top WRs back, UL will still be very tough as showed today.

Mike Dent did the same thing to WVU in Tampa. The center is a key position in any offense. Other than the QB, he's the only one to handle the ball on every play.
