Davis is the best QB in the nation. Our defense isnt even a top 100 defense, let alone top 25 like they wanted. We have Gordy who is going to play, but isnt 100%.

Our DE's are not up to standard, they cant stop the run or get pressure on the QB. That is going to allow our beat up secondary to get beat over and over. Maybe i am being pessimistic, but, with no pass rush, and a beat up (and lacking overall talent) secondary, that is on the road, i think Davis abuses us.

I agree. The only way we overcome the scrotums is if Danny keeps lighting it up, and not looking at the scoreboard. That, and special teams will have to have a SPECIAL day. If I'm wrong, I'll be happy to admit to it.

It will be interesting to see if we try to straight-out outshoot them, or use a ground attack to eat up the clock and keep Davis off the field as much as possible. Most likely a mixture of both.

I'd like to see some good hard hits on their receivers as well.

One other thing we do have going for us, isn't Brady Hoke, a former scUM assistant? If so, our chances just increased by 6-points!!!

On paper, this has the makings of a shootout. Of course, that was also the case last season, and the final score was 18-7. If our offense does as well as I suspect and hope, Davis may find himself under some pressure, and that could cause mistakes. Good he might be, but he's still young.

I say CMU makes plays on offense all day and wins the special teams battle. The defense will feed off the momentum from last week's brilliant red zone performance and second-half shutout and do just enough.

Like Cmichfan said, on paper, this game looks like the tail of two MAC QB's going head to head in a shoot out. Our offense looked good, when BJ decided to open up the playbook and call the Brooks to Lefevour TD pass, however I really don't see BJ changing much and decide to play not to lose, rather than play to win.

Ball State will probably be the best team in the MAC we face all year and this game should tell us allot. It could be very close (if they make mistakes) or it could get really ugly.

Our defense has not shown improvement and the lack of pass rush and awful secondary play will secure us to be one of the worst defenses in the nation at seasons end.

This is going to be a tough battle if we come out on top. But who is going to show up? The NDSU version? Or the NIU/Toledo version?

Imagine if we had played Iowa State instead of Kansas, Iowa instead of Purdue, and SEMO instead of NDSU. I'm not saying they would be wins, but they would have been much more competitive games, and as a result we wouldn't be taking BSU as seriously as we are now.
