Apparently is signed up for the 06 class. Not exactly a "wow" recruit, but he is going to fill in some much needed depth a PG.

He may be able to spell a few minutes. Especially if huggs plans to press alot. With Bennet and Colon to sit down low, Huggs may be willing to use the quick guards to press and take some chances. A better pickup than the Tilford pickup last year at UC.

Quote:Point guard says he picks K-State
By Tim Bisel
The Capital-Journal
Kansas State basketball coach Bob Huggins may have found a point guard after all.
Ray Brewer, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound player from The Patterson School in Patterson, N.C., told The Topeka Capital-Journal on Friday he plans to join the Wildcats this season and enroll at K-State next week. Although Patterson initially was thought to be academically ineligible, he said he qualified this summer and now is simply waiting for his paperwork to be processed.
Brewer would join three other K-State recruits -- center Jason Bennett, forward Luis Colon and guard Blake Young -- to complete Huggins' first class in Manhattan.
Brewer averaged about 15 points and eight assists last year for The Patterson, a preparatory school, before injuring his left knee midway through the season. The injury required arthroscopic surgery, but Brewer insists he is healed.
"My whole thing now is just getting my wind back," he said. "I know for a fact when the season starts I'll be ready."
That would be good news for Huggins, who lost out on junior college point guard Stefhon Hannah in May. Hannah gave Huggins an oral commitment before his mother convinced him to sign with Big 12 rival Missouri.
Still needing help at the point, K-State assistant coach Dalonte Hill turned to Brewer, who played AAU ball for Hill with the D.C. Assault. Hill also recruited the former all-state player from Landover, Md., when he was at Charlotte.
Hill's presence on Huggins' staff helped convince Brewer to become a Wildcat. So, too, did the thought of once again playing alongside Michael Beasley, who is ranked as the No. 1 prospect for the class of 2007 by Rivals.com. Brewer and Beasley, who already has orally committed to play for K-State, were D.C. Assault teammates.
"I wanted to rejoin Coach Hill and have a chance to play with Beasley again," Brewer said. "I just felt like that whole coaching staff and that whole situation would be great for me.
"I'm looking forward to being a Kansas State Wildcat."
And what can Wildcat fans look for from you, Ray?
"What's best about my game is just getting other people involved," he said. "I love to pass the ball.
"Really, I just want to win. That's what I'm all about."
Brewer previously committed to Manhattan after also considering Providence and Rhode Island.
So this just shows that Hill is more than just a package deal one hit wonder for Beasley. He has conncections to the DC area and one of the best AAU teams in the country.
