NBR: University Rankings?
Where, online or elsewhere, may I find university rankings particularly for specific schools of study?
I keep hearing that "U.S. News & World Report" has them, but I am not internet savvy enough to be able to find their rankings for specific fields of study, such as engineering ... or more specifically, mechanical engineering.
Also, once I've found that information, would I then be able to search for other specific universities to see how well, or how poorly, UAB compares versus those other universities?
I've grown VERY tired of explaining to others (i.e., co-workers) that UAB is a fully accredited university and not a community college or junior college. :muttering:

Here's a link to the rankings: link
I'll say a couple things though. It's a pretty widely held notion that the rankings are flawed, that take into account some criteria that have nothing to do with the school's ability to provide an education. Secondly, if people don't just take your word for it and you have to actually explain that UAB is a 4-year doctoral university, it's not worth it.
