Being reported today that Bruce Pearl and his wife are getting a divorce. Rumors as to the reasons why are being circulated on the hillbilliers' Scout Board -

If it's unfounded, then it is just a rumor, and we can all laugh about it. If it's true, then it's news ~ bad news from our perspective, sad news for Bruce and his family. My fear is that we're going to be hearing about it. May as well hear it now from a friendly source, so we can be prepared for it, rather than sticking our heads in the sand.

The Bruce and Pat divorces are certainly timed closed together - I bet the Vol Nation would go crazy if Bruce and Pat decided to tie the knot.

UT women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt filed for a divorce from her husband, R.B. Summitt, on Aug. 15 in Blount County Circuit Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.’’

Summitt’s divorce came after 17 months of separation.

While Summitt’s filing came eight days before the couple’s 27th wedding anniversary, Pearl’s came two days before his 25th anniversary.

The Pearls have four children. As of April of 2007, Jacqui was 20, Steven 18, Leah 12 and Michael 8.

Kim Pearl did not accompany her husband on the Vols’ trip to Europe.
