what kind of fan base did you expect us to have for a Nashville team. Call it a silent protest, but there is no reason to bash Memphis for being proud.

I think calling it a silent protest is optimistic. I think that's how we label it but, in actuality, it's just that we don't have 60,000 people willing to show up for 8 games a year. We can't even get 18 to fedex forum for a top 5 team

we are in the top tier of college bball attendance and have been for quite some time. i don't have a problem with you being a titans fan. to each their own. after living in new jersey for many years, i'm a jets fan (perennial losers). being a jets fan isn't easy, but i will support them through thick and thin. i will also support memphis through thick and thin. i haven't lived there since college, but it's my hometown and i won't jump ship.

I can't believe my Broncos continue to find a wild ass way to win.
WTG Elam!
BTW I do not look down on any Memphians for not being Bronco fans also just the same as those who don't root for the tits.
We do have 2 Super Bowl titles also. lol

It's not so much that but the fact that they came in and let it be known to everyone in Memphis that this was Nashville's team and then decided to blame the poor attendance on Memphians for having self-respect and not supporting a team that made little to no effort to garner fan support in their city.

I'll be damned if anyone ever tries to rewrite the reason Memphis hates the Titan organization. I'll slam them like a 400 lb wrestler. They tried to screw us over so bad it was laughable. Remember how they would have some personal appearance set up during he week to drum up support and then the players or coach wouldn't even show up?
The LB was fine for Bud to pad his wallet for exhibition games before but suddenly we couldn't even get a single exhibition game EVER to pay us back for being their home city for two years. Incredible stupidity on Bud's part there.
Only a Memphian without an ounce of self respect to suddenly decide to hitch his loyalty to that tub of sh!t.

Shut up, hater. Nobody cares what you think anyway. I'm not rooting for the owner, I'm rooting for the team for the same reason I root for the Grizzlies--b/c they are a franchise in the great state of Tennessee.

Does Bud kiss you on the back of the head while he bags you in the.....AHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Root much for the Predators? UTK? MTSU?
You deserve a good one from Bud without the courtesy of a reach around.

Your venom towards the Titans is sad. Your mindset is one of many that makes Memphis small time in terms of sports. I'm sure you dislike the Grizzlies as well for having the audacity to play basketball the same day as the Tigers, and likely you wish they'd move on because they're not a "Memphis team." Just guessing.

Tell me, how did San Antonio treat the Saints when they couldn't play in New Orleans? THey welcomed them and made them feel at home and made a strong case for deserving an NBA team.

What about the Hornets in Oklahoma City? Same deal. Now who's going to be looked at for expansions/relocations, cities who supported teams when they came to town or whose fans wisely stayed home to prove a point to god knows who and only made themselves look like a bunch of spiteful a$$holes?

I had no idea Houston had been hit with a hurricane to flush out the Oilers. Are you really that slow?

The point is the same, champ. Both of those were cities that knew they were TEMPORARILY receiving a pro franchise and supported the hell out ot it while they were there, unlike Memphis, who temporarily received a pro franchise and proved everyone who never gave them an NFL franchise correct by revealing the city to be full of petulant, indifferent fans.

You can argue it might have been different if it'd been a permanent move by the Oilers, but that was our chance to show what we could do and we totally blew it. And we still have people kicking and screaming like little girls about why they were right to sit at home and pout. It's still the NFL, the product sells itself. Are YOU really that slow?

Small time.

I hope you don't live in Memphis. We have enough morons like you already. Dumb as sh!t.
Go take your reaming from Bud now.

You're absolutely right. Because I"m a Titans fan, the city is going to hell, politics are corrupt, university leadership is impotent, crime is rising, taxes are rising, the public schools are tanking, and everyone is moving out of the city.

Thank god you are here, tigertommy. You have correctly identified the root cause of Memphis' problems: Titans fans. Using this knowledge, we can build a new era of peace and prosperity if we forcibly relocate them to Nashville. This dangerous, mouthbreathing criminal element that have been running a political machine and intimidating University leadership is a scourge that can be tolerated no more.

I say we move straight to mandatory execution. That'd clean up the city AND set an example for the rest of us.

Do me a favor, champ. Don't think too much, you're not good at it. If you DO think, don't tell anybody what you're thinking because you'll look like a miserable imbecile. IF you go against this advice and do feel the need to tell somebody what you're thinking, say "just kidding" at the end so nobody realizes the depth of your lunacy. If all this fails, move to Knoxville so nobody notices. You could be regarded as a king there

A Memphian who roots for the tits is about as dumb as a Memphian casting a ballot for Willie Herenton.

I absolutely love the hatred..lol

I was a Memphian during the Oilers' year here, I was seventeen, and I could've cared less about all the outside stuff going on.

I became a fan that year, and I've been with them ever since.

Good performance today. Hope we can pull it off next Monday night in New Orleans.

I guarantee there was more orange in that crowd today than if they'd played the game in Indianapolis. Plus, as tigertommy said, Peyton is a likeable guy.

I disagree . Peyton is nice on camera but not in person. Not the several times I've seen him. A funny guy in commercials and on television but a real prick in person. F em. Eli on the other hand is much more personable, grant it not nearly as famous, and much younger, but still a more pleasurable guy to be around.

I guess we're both crazy...I too liked them BEFORE they moved to Memphis. I liked the Oilers because of Earl Campbell.

If you don't like them fine...but the name calling and the language used in the title of this thread and throughout this thread are in poor taste.

JMHO.

Exactly...I have a favorite NFL team, which I cheer for on Sundays. I guess that makes me everything these folks around here call Titans fans.

Judging by the line which I witnessed at Davis-Kidd Bookstore when Vince Young and Bo Scaife made an appearance before the season....there are more than a couple of us around here..lol

I've never met him so the only thing I have to go by is how he appears on commercials and on television. Maybe he's a Big Ern McCracken type.

How about:
1) how they never treated the city where their home field was as their home city by not living here; as well as
2) how they demanded that the city pay their traveling expenses to and from Nashville.

The Tits never EARNED Memphis' support. They've EARNED my enmity through their actions and treatment of GREAT Memphis NFL fans. They aren't the only ones deserving of disdain. The NFL as a whole deserved that editorial picture of the dog pi$$ing on the logo by Ramirez. That cartoon didn't earn him the Pulitzer, but I'll always think that it was one of the bricks on the road there.

04-jawdropWow!! 04-jawdrop

That's all I can say after returning to this thread seven hours since my last post!

Had no idea that all these Titans-fan haters would keep checking this thread (since they hate us so much).
03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

It's just a football team and a bunch of their fans. Hate the owner all you want, but you guys are missing out on all the fun and excitement!

I didn't see any posts supporting the Rams or the Saints on this thread. It's only natural for a person living in Tennessee to support a pro team that calls this state it's home.

I know several Memphis residents who watch the Titans each Sunday to cheer them on. They love the NFL and they are proud that they respresent ALL of us who reside in Tennessee. I've even met several who have season tickets and drive in for every home game. They don't appear to be stupid or idiotic or 'nutless wackjobs', as someone suggested.

03-shhhhI hope you get over it one day soon.

...and I agree: This and all Titans threads SHOULD be in NTR.

Look, nobody hates UT worse than I do. But you have to admit Peyton is arguably the best QB to play the game today, and will in all probability be one of the best ever. He is a likeable guy. He even married a Memphis girl. Next to watching DeAngelo play, I'd rather watch him than anyone. Only problem is since we are in TN, we get the "TN" Titans more often than not.

And as for Memphis supporting the Titans, I would rather wear orange and sing Rocky Top. during one of the first press conferences His Royal Hiney Bud Adams held on moving his team through here he hoped the "Memphites" would show their support for his team even though they would only be here for a year or two.

If we are such slouches and losers, according to jgardne, for not supporting a temporary team, what does that say about Houston. They were so glad to get rid of Adams, they had a party when he left. their attendance was abysmal during his last few years there and they wouldn't give him the new stadium he wanted, so he took his toys and went elsewhere. Talk about petulent. Believe me, let things turn down a little bit for the Titans, and see how long he sticks around.

Memphis had every right to react the way it did. They are as appreciative and prideful of fans as those from Cleveland, Baltimore, etc. They would've done what we did. Especially if their state rejected funding for mere stadium improvements, then turned around and funded an entirely new stadium for the state capital.

Screw the NFL. Go Grizz. Someone needs to find that Ramirez editorial.
